Suddenly everything froze... Amy’s screams were louder than the thunder, Mr. Meadows charged onto the scene, no small smile on his face as he usually had, he grabbed Amy from behind and pulled her close to him, prohibiting her from running to Steven and risking getting stabbed by Tom. But Tom dropped the knife he’d withdrawn from Steven’s side and watched Steven fall to the ground in intense agony, Tom backed away as his eyes were wide with fear, anger and shock, he shook his head and whispered “you shouldn’t have done it, Steven...” and with that he dashed for the school gates, yanked them open and disappeared through the thick sheets of icy cold rain. Amy couldn’t wait any longer; she pulled Mr. Meadows’s arms off her and ran up the field to Steven who lay on the grass in a small pool of his blood, choking softly. Amy landed by his side, she didn’t care if she was drenched in water and now her lover’s blood, and she held his hand tightly, leaned over and kissed him repeatedly,
“Don’t leave me again, Steven, my love, I- I can’t imagine a world without you!” She sobbed into his ice cold, pale, soaked skin, Amy looked at the wound that was in Steven’s side, she cried out loud at how deep it looked, she averted her eyes and returned to Steven’s face; his eyes weren’t focussed, those once dazzling blue eyes, full of life and love, now dim, fading and closing slightly “Steven you can’t leave me, I love you more than anything in this world, I can’t imagine a more perfect life without you” Amy cried as she put her hands against Steven’s cheeks and brushed wet strands of hair out of his face, Steven choked again
“You’re going to have to start imagining, my love... I don’t think I’ll go to heaven because you won’t be in it...” Steven said softly and he closed his eyes “I love you, Amy...” He whispered as Amy planted one last kiss on his soft, wet, cold lips before medics came running over to them and lifted Steven onto a stretcher, Amy didn’t want to let go of her love’s hand, but Mr. Meadows had appeared again and held on to her tightly as they both knelt on the grass in a pool of Steven’s blood and watched the ambulance turn the sirens on and quickly drive off to the hospital...
