"What's got you so inspired?" Luca asked after seeing his sister for what felt like the hundredth time today write lyrics down in her notes app.

Harley just shrugged, turning off her phone. "I don't know; I think it was just about time; I have to have all my songs done by next week and Nicks out of town."

Luca smirked into his mug of coffee. "I think we all know why you're so happy and inspired. Don't we, Brie?" The boy said, looking over to his oldest sister, who was biting her thumb nail while looking at something on her phone, "Brie?"

"Hm?" The woman hummed, looking up from her phone and quickly tucking it into the back pocket of her jeans.

The two younger siblings glanced at each other. The three had spent their morning surfing together, and Brie had constantly been looking at her phone, clearly anxious. "Brie, are you okay?"

"Yeah, just work stuff; there's an emergency at the restaurant," she said, hopping off the counter and going to grab her purse.

The boy narrowed his eyes, "It's your day off."

The girl just shrugged as she walked to the door. "I know it's annoying; I'll call you when I'm done. I love y'all."

"Yeah okay, love you," Harley responded, not taking her eyes off her sister as she walked out the door.

"What the fucks going on with her?"

"I don't know; II'll ask her about it later." They could obviously tell something was bothering her, but for now, Harley just let it go; she was already way too distracted as it was.

She opened her voice memos, humming a melody. "You need to do something about your ideas before you lose them," Luca advised.

"I know, but I want these last songs to be great, which means someone else should help me mix them."

"I know Nicks out of town, but don't you have friends who can do that kind of stuff??" Harley hummed at that, pursing her lips.

"You think Billie's free?"

"Why would I know?? Call her." Luca said, getting up to go to his room, "I invited Micah over."

The singer just nodded at her brother's words and pulled out her phone. She clicked on Billie's contact and waited for the facetime to go through.

"Yo, what's up?"

"What are you doing right now?"

"Uhh, nothing really called me on
one of my only free days this month."

"Would you be down to come?
Help me mix my last two songs.
got ideas ready, I think we can get them done quick."

"Yeah, sure, do you have a studio session booked?"

"Nah, but we can use my at home one
it'll work."

"Sounds good. I'll be over in like
an hour."

They granted each other a quick bye before hanging up. Harley walked down the hall into her small studio and sat down in the spinning chair.

She clicked on her phone and started scrolling through the lyrics she had taken down today. She clicked on the one she had loved since she first typed it out. She turned on her computer in front of her, humming the melody of the lyrics as she searched for a drum line that she thought would fit. She continued her process for about the next hour before someone tapped her on the shoulder.
