THE NEXT DAY WAS THE DAY FOR THE PRINCESSES. PRINCE AEGON AND AEMOND WERE OUT SPARRING WITH CRISTION. They had left early in the morning not saying goodbye to anyone in the red keep. so Helaena offered to take Daena and their mother alicent out for lunch.
Daena wore the silky blue dress that matched Helaena's long and soft darker blue one. Meanwhile, there mother wore the darkest green she could find in her closet. Many maids and servants could see the difference between the Queen and her daughters.
Helaena had gotten both of their favorites, hoping to please them after all that has happened in the last few moons. Daena never really liked the garden but she loved being outside, ever since leaving te red keep with Aegon a few moons before she came to terms that the outside was for her. Daena sat with a silk blanket that helaena had made for her as she ate one of the small sandwitches helaena asked for
"I belive that all things happen for a reason," Helaena muttered to alicent as Daena played with the little flower silk that was attached to the blanket. she missed aegon a lot. Both of the Targaryen siblings had never been so far away for such a long time. Alicent took notice of this as Daena seemed to not join in on anything helaena saying.
"My dear" Alicent said, trying to grab Daena's hand as Daena's violet eyes met her moms light brown ones. "Are you alright?" Alicent asked which caused Helaena to stop rambling to look at her waiting for her answer
"Yes, mother don't worry I am alright." Daena said as she looked at Helaena "There is a ladybug on your dress sister" Daena pointed out to Helaena who looked down at her dress and squealed at the sight of the black and red bug on her dress as she her one finger to pick it up and show her mother who smiled but slightly backed away from the site.
Daena grew bored of both her sister and mother. She lay back on the grass her silky blue dess laid softly atop the blanket placed under them. "I wish to talk to you both" Alicent told them which stopped Helena's rambling and daena looked towards her mothers eyes.
"I have proposed a marriage proposal for both of you" Alicent said as Both helaena and Daena met each other's eyes "Helaena you shall marry aegon" Helaena's eyes widend at the name of her brother
"I thought I was to marry Jacaerys?" Helaena asked with a broken voice. Daena pulled herself from off the ground "Mother?" Daena asked which caused Alicent to turn to her oldest "My girl, I cannot risk to you to Rhaenyra's sons" Alicent said hesitly trying to word the "Bastard in her sentence
"My Daena, I wish for you to be married to Daeron Velaryon, I saw you both were very well at Rhaenyra's wedding And your grandfather said we need some land and aliicnce with The velaryons at driftmark" Alicent said grabbing hold of Daena arm who yanked it away
"I don't want to be married mother at least not yet!" Daena told her mother "I wish to have time" She said as she noticed Helaena nodding as well. Daena rose to her feet as she dusted her dress off and nodded to her mother and sister before storming away
Though it was difficult for her to leave her mother behind, how could she not? She had always seen how marriage was scary in a woman world full of men but now she was going to experience what braver women feel.
She came back inside the red keep, passing many maids and guards who nodded their heads at the princess. She didn't know if Aegon or aemond would be back by now so she just returned to her chambers.
Often times she wished she had a better relationship with her halfsister Rhaenyra. She wished her body and mind was capable of loving someone like that. She wished she could have loved jace Luke and Joffery. They looked like sweet boys but she didn't know what was stopping her from doing that
She loved Rhaenyra when she was younger but now? the princess had no idea what rhaenyra was even doing anymore.
Helaena would be Queen. Daena thought in her head as she sat down by her bed. she would be lady Daena instead of princess. She had not spoken to Daeron Velaryon in a long time since that day. He visited her once when she recovering but they haven't seen each other since. she wondered how he was doing.
Her thoughts were put aside when a knock was at her door.
