Daena mounted her grey dragon. It had been a while since she had flown with him. He was a patient dragon, which Daena was grateful for. "Soves," she told her dragon as he flew up into the air keeping his eyes on Vhagar and Dreamfyre
Daena looked back to see Sunfyre chasing after them, Daena patted her dragon's neck as they flew higher, Grey Ghost liked to fly higher than most dragons, he would be harder to see. That's why his name is Grey Ghost.
Last night was only a push to war and the Princess knew of it. she saw what would happen if Rhaenyra was Queen. Her dreams spoke to her in a way that normal dreams would be. It was so natural to the princess that she welcomed it with open arms
She had her first dream while she was bleeding out on the floor at Rhaenyra's wedding. All she saw was people from King's landing screaming for mercy as dragons flew around them in panic
Daena never felt so silent in her life as she was carried to the maesters chambers by Ser Harwin. Most kids and men would be sobbing in pain or screaming, but Daena kept her eyes on the ceiling above her staring at the dragon murals as the chaos ensued.
She often wanted to to talk to Helaena about them though te topic felt uncomfortable to ask her. She always stopped smiling when she was told to put the bug down and actually talked to people.
Helaena was less focused her studies with her septa, Daena ensured she listened well enough to have basic knowledge of the Faith and Targaryen history. One thing Daena listened to was about dragon dreams
she didn't think she had dragon dreams. she always thought dragon dreams had to include a targaryen and a dragon in it but all of her dreams were just of war and strange people she never knew.
her thoughts were lost as the golden scales of sunfyre came into view scaring Daena's young ghost dragon, who roared at the older dragon. Aegon drunkenly laughed as Daena smiled at her brother who she had barely seen laugh in her whole childhood of knowing him.
Daena grabbed the reigns of her dragon and pulled the dragon obliged swinging its wings around to push off after the golden dragon ahead
Dreamfyre was not to far from them as Helane noticed what was going on. she pulled the reigns on Dreamfyre and chased after them, the older dragon roared at the other two as it passed them both as Helaena smiled and looked back at them
Grey ghost was the youngest of the dragon but was one of the quickest. Grey ghost and Dreamfyre matched each other's speed well as did sunfyre who flew below them almost like he was protecting them.
When they landed back in King's landing Aegon was the first to touch down. He quickly rushed off sunfyre and patted his golden boy before rushing to the smaller pale dragon that his sister was on before helping her down. Muttering a small thank Daena quickly got off and waited for her brother and sister to arrive as they were still in the sky when Aegon approched
"Meet me in my chambers tonight. bring one of your maids clothes" aegon whsiperd in her ear before wandering off as the guards escorted the heir back in the castle
Aemond and Helaena landed with dust from the dragosnwings flying in the air of the pit. Grey ghost roared in return, with dreamy roaring back. Helaena swung off before smiling at her sister and following her brother in pursuit back to her chambers.
Daena waited for aemond who landed Vhagar outside the the dragon pit due to him being he biggest of the four dragons. almond hopped off and glared at daena with his one good eye. Daena struggled to look at him very well
"A-are you alright" Daena asked nervously trying to be a better sister to her little siblings. Aemond glared and shivered past her without baring a glance at her making daena release a breath as Vharagr slightly scowled at her as she nodded at the dragon before picking up her small ends of the dress and making her way back in the castles walls
