"And? After that?" "Andddd nothing." "what the fuck shubman. Complete the damn narrative." "There is nothing to complete though, these were just the memories of the past." "yeah exactly what happened next in these memories?" "I'll tell you some other day, today I need to go practice before virat bhaiya woops my ass."

I was the head manager of the ICT team currently. It has been just a year with these people but they are so lovely that it feels like I have been here forever. Rohit and Virat are the pillars of the ICT. They are one of the most amazing people I have ever met. All the other team members are lovely too.

This is like a family. They fight but they also love. All was normal and okay apart from one thing. A member of this family was missing. My favourite player. Ishan Kishan. I have always admired kishan with bat and also behind the stumps.

Things were okay until last year. He played the ipl but did not get a chance in the T20 world cup. But it was still okay I mean these people have held him back so many times that it almost started to feel normal at this point.

I had always loved cricket and therefore here I am. I love Ishan I mean who wouldn't. But then I never got to actually meet him. So unfair. Last year's T20 was the first tournament of mine with ICT as the official manager and assistant strategist.

I thought I would eventually get to meet him. But then shit went down. Something happened between the management and Ishan last year. I think they might have insulted him because Ishan just stormed out from that office and never looked back.

Things got very serious this year when he refused to play the ipl. He was withdrawing himself from cricket it seemed. When he stormed out of that office last year everybody had tried contacting him. But he refused to answer any one of them.

Ishan had avoided speaking with anyone of them since then. Last year there was no one that could reach him. Shubman and rishab even tried meeting him at his place but it was also fruitless.

This year when he refused the ipl everybody got hella concerned because that stupid man was playing with his carrier at this point. But he just said that he needed time away from cricket.

The wounds are still fresh for the ICT. They all love him and are very worried about him. But I couldn't help noticing the change in shubman. He seemed different. I had met the team a few times before officially joining them. I knew how every person was, though I did not get a chance to meet Ishan even those times because of some reason, but I pretty much knew the rest of them. And shubman had changed quite a lot since that time.

First, I thought that 'the Ishan event' had left him numb because he lost a best friend on team but no, there was something deeper than that concerning the poor boy. I wanted to ask what was wrong but then I thought better of it.

It was just the start of my journey here and everything was fucked up. I never knew internal politics ran this deep. Everybody here hated the management but what could they do about it.

When Ishan first left last year rohit and virat went to speak with the head about it. They were told that there had been some misunderstandings between the player and the management and that they would sort it out.

Nothing was gonna get sorted out. They had always treated Ishan poorly and now they had a literal reason to keep him off the team. And the team couldn't do anything about it until and unless Ishan himself wanted to do something. He didn't.

It almost felt like he had given up on cricket altogether. I hated this. All of it. I really don't want to imagine what the team was feeling.

Shubman looked broken last year. Quite literally. So much so that he got a warning from the management a few times to get a hold on himself. This year he looked better and it was a great improvement and all but something still felt off.

"What is wrong with shubman?" I asked in one of our team dinners a few months back. "You know what happened with Ishan right, I think it might have affected him." It was yashasvi that spoke. "would you look like that if your best friend was sacked from the team? For more then a year?" I deadpanned.

I mean it was quite impossible for me to think of a reason why he looked like that. "I would be heartbroken yes, but doesn't he also like Ishan?" and everybody turned their necks so fast that I think at least one of them might have broken it.

"What?????? You'll think I am blind?" yashasvi sounded quite offended. "okay do we all collectively think that shubman have feelings for Ishan?" it was hardik that spoke this time and everybody nodded.

I mean if this is true then it would explain a lot of things. "I thought I was the only one that was going mad thinking that." "Ro you think also?" questioned virat. And he sounded so serious with that, that rohit almost started thinking of replies before hitting him on head.

"we are having a serious discussion here can the both of you keep that for afterwards please." "yeah so, you are asking this because?" then surya turned to me with that. "I don't know its just that he looked a bit too depressed for just a best friend."

"I agree a hundred percent." Arshdeep chipped in with a mouthful of food. And everybody looked quite disgusted at that. "can you please finish your food before speaking." It was bumrah.

"I mean yeah, he looks 2 seconds away from jumping the management whenever he sees them, refuses to attend any of the team dinners, refuses every single PR stunt and ad shoots brought in for him and looks like he have won the world whenever Ishan decides to call or even text him."

"You summed up his daily routine in that one sentence." It was abhishek. He was brought in the team this year for the test. That man also went mad thinking he was the substitution for Ishan and was ready to leave the team.

We had to physically sit him down and explain that he was definitely selected because he was talented and there was no other reason.

"You are his best friend right, you know something?" it was hardik. "will you tell us about what Ishan told you about the management?" "That is ....... I mean I can't until Ishan wants to." "Exactly."

Well that was true we can't be asking about shubman until he wants us to know. And I think everybody agreed because no one questioned him after that. He was quite smart with this.

I am so sorry for the late update but I am in the middle of something and I really couldn't update. But now I will try my best to update regularly please bear with me until the end of this month.
