Nightcrawler

Schooled Pt.2

Nightcrawler and Robin where next to each other on their bikes as Superboy was slightly ahead as they followed the truck on the highway.

"If dislike is the opposite of like, is disaster the opposite of aster? See, if things are going wrong, they go right." Robin asks. Nightcrawler looks at him confused trying to comprehend what he had just said. "The English language is truly a mystery." He decided to say shaking his head as he felt a headache coming. Robin zooms to be closer to Superboy waiting for his answer. Only to never get one. 

"Uh, clearly  you're not feeling the aster. What's wrong?" Robin asks looking at Superboy. Nightcrawler zoomed forward as well to see what was wrong.

"Canary." Superboy replies instantly causing Nightcrawler to look at him curiously. "What business does she have teaching combat skills to a guy with Super-Strength?" He questions. 

"Taking down stringer guys is part of the gig. Canary learned that the hard way. Same with Batman and, well me." He says. Superboy not really liking that answer revved his bike and move closer to the truck. Nightcrawler and Robin both share a look not sure what else to say to him. 

As the three continue to drive behind the truck  bunch of robotic monkeys came and latched onto the truck. The robotic monkeys make it's way to the drivers cabin.

'Hey switch your ride to battle mode." Robin informs the other. "No need." Superboy says as he jumps off the bike onto the top of the truck. With the bike no longer having a driver it comes rolling back past Robin and hitting Nightcrawlers bike. Nightcrawler luckily teleported onto Robins Bike standing on the back before teleporting on top of the truck. 

Nightcrawler moves to the side of the truck crawling along the side towards the drivers cabin. Getting to the drivers compartment he sees monkeys attacking the driver. Nightcrawler uses his tail to attack and destroy the monkey-bots.  Just then as Nightcrawler was helping the driver and passenger drones came over shotting lasers at them.

A laser hits Nightcrawler in the back causing him to yelp in pain. He leaped off the side of the truck to take down the drones. 

"Nightcrawler get the other to safety." Robin calls out. Nightcrawler teleports into the passenger seat next to the driver scaring him. Nightcrawler gives him a small closed mouth smile before taking his hand and teleporting them to the side of the rode. 

When Nightcrawler got back to Superboy was gone taken by the Monkeys and Robin was crouched over a destroyed Monkey. 

"Where going to Gotham City." Robin says as he looks up at Nightcrawler. "Ok lets go." Nightcrawler says turning towards the bike. That when Robin sees a large burn on his back. "Uhh, are you ok?" He asks. "huh? Oh, yeah I've been burned before." Nightcrawler says as he gets onto the bike. "Come on." Robin was about to say something but he knew it wasn't the best time to get into the past. Robin jumps on and warps his arm around Nightcrawlers waist as he gets the tracker open. "Defiantly a disaster... Heavy on the dis." Robin says as Nightcrawler speeds off. 

"Stop here real quick." Robin tells Nightcrawler. They were on the outskirts of  Gotham. Robin gets off and hides behind a bush as he quickly changes into his hero outfit. When he comes out he see's Nightcrawler doing the same in the shadow. Robin watches as Nightcrawler puts his shirt on but what catches his attention where the numerous scars that litter his body and the silver cross the hangs around his neck before being covered by his hero outfit. "Oh, you're done. Ready to go." Nightcrawler says as he sees Robin standing there staring at him. "Huh? Oh, umm yeah." Robin says as he rubs his head. "Lets get going we should be meeting Wally soon." He says getting onto the back of the bike. Nightcrawler nods getting onto the back. He speeds off as soon as he feels Robins arms around him securing him from flying off.
