25. Safety

The hint of mens body soap woke Jocelyn up from her sleep. She ran her hand over the left side of the bed to find it empty. She stretches in bed, smiling as she remembers what happened last night. Sonny steps out of the bathroom, towel around his waist. Jocelyn smirks as she sits up to see the view.

"Mornin'." Sonny goes to give her a kiss. She hums into him. Thankfully that it was Sunday, which means he stays longer with her. Having Sonny here with her, she feels so at peace.

"Hi." She falls back to bed.

"Hello." He smirks. "Hey, the window is broken, how long has that been like that?" He shows her the window with the fire escape. "Its a safety hazard you know."

"Since i got this place. They say theyll fix it but they never show up."

"Call them, i wanna be here when they do." She sighs.

"Plans for today?" She switches the topic.

"Heading to my ma's in a bit to help her with dinner."

"You have to leave now?" Jocelyn sat up, looking at him all doe eyed. Sonny smirks, falling for those eyes. "I just get so lonely here."

"You are one hell of a-" Her fingers danced around his lower half, trailing up to his neck. He tries to keep it in but its one hell of a fight.

"You can leave me, that fine." she sighs, falling back onto her bed, spread out.

"If i get yelled at for being late, i will throw you under the bus." Sonny drops the towel and crawls over her. Jocelyn smiles, biting her lip.

"Whatever makes you stay here with me a bit longer." He kisses her hungrily, grinning his teeth against hers and pulling her underwear to the side as he slips himself right in. Jocelyn moans, following from a smile.

Jocelyn sits in her living room watching tv and eating her ice cream. She spends her sunday at home with Mulder. She likes to keep it calm and quiet. It's sunday anyways, its her time to relax. She hears the keys to the door jingle and Sonny walks in with bags full of food.

"Im back!" Sonny plops the bags on the counter. Jocelyn walks her way to him and scans through the delicious food in front of her. "My ma didn't want you starve, she made sure to have leftovers."

"You tell her thank you." She had food for DAYS. "Oh! Called the guys again, tomorrow afternoon they will fix the window."

"You sure?"

"I pulled the cop card." She takes a fork and starts to dig in. "Happy?"

"Very." He kisses her cheek. "What we watching?" He takes off his jacket and heads to the couch. Jocelyn sits down with him watching some show she had on. They stayed up for a while until it was time for bed. Jocelyn hops in the bathroom for a quick shower.

"Did you put the AC on?" She asks as she dries her hair.

"The windows open, you sure?" Jocelyn stops, frowning at her reflection.

"What?" She wanted to hear again. Hoping that she heard wrong.

"You left it open." Jocelyn's stomach sank. Did she crack it open? Did she forget?

"Close it please." She hears the sound of it closing. She shuffles back to her room to see him taking off his shirt and getting ready for bed. Jocelyn wraps her arm around him, getting comfortable. Sonny liked the way she got close, she uses him like a pillow. He loves the way that he holds her at night but he had to get use to her cold feet that ALWAYS touch him. "Night." She says with her eyes closed.

"Night." He kisses her head and just lays there looking around the room until she falls asleep.

"Its finally nice to have someone come down after how many calls?" Sonny says as he lets in the repair man into the house. Jocelyn shows him the way to the room.

"Dom..." Jocelyn says.

"What? Creeps can come in, we know what happens." She places her hand on his shoulder. "Considering that you live here, alone-"

"Latch is broken, i have to get new one." The repair man gets up, looking at the window and at them. "it'll take a week."

"A week?!" Sonny fakes a laugh, cannot believe this guy. "Again, we've been waiting for you to come all the way here and you cant fix a latch in a day?"

"This is a special latch, we have to order-"

"Unbelievable." Sonny turns around, shaking his head. Jocelyn takes the repair man to the door and she comes back to Sonny.

"I can wait for a week Dominick." Jocelyn places her hand on his chest.

"No. Im not going to let you stay here with that." He points at the window.

"You haven't noticed the window until now, its been how long since ive been living here?" She gives him a soft smile. "If you want, i can stay with you until he gets the stupid latch. Is that good enough?" She hums.

"You know i won't say no to that." She kisses him.

"Then no more being upset." She smiles.

"Youre too nice." He tells her, wrapping his arms around her. "You have to let them know you mean business."

"They do what they can." She shrugs. "You've seen me, im not too nice." They chuckled.

Jocelyn goes home after a 16 hour shift, she was exhausted and her place was closer. After all, she just wanted to take a nap. It was nice to come back home. Sonny's place was a lot more nicer, but she missed her things.

She plops on the couch, staring at the ceiling. All she hears were the sounds of police sirens, dogs barking and some music that her neighbors were playing. It was almost weird to be home. It's always so quiet at Sonny's.

Her eyes start to droop, she didn't want to fight but so she ended up losing that fight and she fell into a deep sleep. Her light snores, the little twitches. Then she jumps up. The sound of something falling woke her up. Her heart starts to race. She immediately reaches for her gun, still coming out of her deep sleep, she takes off the blanket and scans the place, nothing. Nothing fell, nothing out of the ordinary and nobody was here. She sighs and looks at the blanket. She didn't remember grabbing the blanket.

"You're tired Peña." She whispers to herself. That 16 hour shift did a number on her. She gets a call from Amanda saying that have a suspect on their case. She gets her shoes on and walks out her place, but before she does, she checks the rooms again, locking the door twice.
