Audrey woke up the next morning, comforter kicked down to her ankles after a bit of a fitful sleep.
She'd dreamt that the Black hood had gotten to Tim first, then to her.
She had woken up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. But she was just grateful she hadn't woken up Sweet Pea, as she'd had a feeling she may have let out a blood curdling scream from her nightmare.
She sat up in her bed, taking a few minutes to do some breathing exercises and stretches.
After she'd calmed herself down a bit, she walked to the hallway bathroom, gargling, brushing and flossing her teeth and brushing her hair up in a low ponytail before going downstairs, wrapping a wrap cardigan over her pajamas, going into the kitchen to quietly scrounge up something for breakfast.
She nearly jumped out of her skin though when she saw Sweet Pea was already up, making...French toast?
"Omg. You scared the crap out of me, Sweet Pea. Also, are you making French toast?" Aubrey asked, raising an eyebrow.
He glanced back at Audrey, flipping the fourth and last French toast slice onto a plate, a small smirk on his face before a flicker of concern was shown in his eyes for a brief moment, noticing Audrey looked like she barely slept, but then it passed.
He shrugged. "They teach you all sort of things in the Southside Serpents" he joked dryly.
Audrey rolled her eyes but sat down at one of the kitchen counter stools, but then went to brew a pot of coffee, and pulling mugs from the cabinet, then rummaged in the fridge for some milk, then some sugar, and set them out.
She took a seat next to Sweet Pea, taking a slice of toast he offered to her, and nodded her thanks. She took a bite and her eyes widened.
"You weren't kidding! These are pretty good" she said, her tone surprised again.
Sweet Pea half smiled, shaking his head as he poured himself a mug of coffee.
"Who taught you how to cook?" Audrey asked, trying to make conversation.
"My dad did" Sweet Pea said in a softer voice than usual.
Audrey blinked, a small lump forming in her throat but she gave a small half-smile.
"He sounds like he was a pretty great dad" Audrey said sincerely.
Sweet Pea nodded, and took a sip of coffee.
"Yeah, he was. Um, anyways. News said the stay home order is still going on for the time being so.. we should probably check on our food rations and all of that if we have another whole day of having to stay inside" Sweet Pea said, back to business.
Audrey nodded and finished her French toast before checking their provisions, opening the pantry and fridge.
"Um looks like we have about half a jug of milk, 3 eggs, 2 slices of bread, then the pantry has... a can of beans, a chef boyardee can ravioli a bag of jasmine rice... a jar of peanut butter.. and one box of Oreos..." Audrey listed off as she rummaged around.
