Veronica's driver pulled up to the side of La Bonne Nuit, and SweetPea and Audrey got out of the limo, each carrying just a small backpack of things, as they walked into the chic abode.
The overall space wasn't enormous, but still comfortable enough. Inside, the floors were decorate a light gray marble, shined so well, Audrey could almost see her reflection in it when she looked down at the flooring, as she and Sweet Pea were lead by a bellhop to their two separate rooms that were located right across from the other's.
"Miss Veronica wanted me to let you both know that aside from our concierge, a guard has been stationed at both entrance and exit due to the nature of recent.... happenings" the bellhop explained to them, and SweetPea and Audrey nodded in understanding.
Then the bellhop left them to get settled in.
SweetPea and Audrey both gave each other a nod from their own doorways before going to their own rooms to get settled in.
Audrey was starting to close her door when SweetPea suddenly appeared, startling her slightly, but he just stood in the doorway for a moment.
Audrey raised an eyebrow, and Sweet Pea cleared his throat. "Um, we should probably have a SOS code." he explained.
"A code?" Audrey thought, before looking around inside her hotel room, before she had an idea.
"Oh, how about..." she started to say before gesturing for SweetPea to come in, and she walked over to the wall that they shared between the two separate walls, before thumping it a few times with her first in a certain rhythm.
Sweet Pea's eyebrows furrowed a bit, studying the rhythm before shrugging.
"Okay" he said then repeated the same rhythm.
"Then if we want to signal that we're okay or a false alarm?" Audrey asked, and Sweet Pea thought for a moment, then did a short quick rhythm of taps on the wall.
Audrey listened then repeated it.
"Okay well, goodnight." SweetPea said with a simple nod, saluting before he left the room to go back to his.
Audrey watched his retreating figure for a moment, before shrugging to herself and closing the door after he had left, locking it with the double locks, and putting an extra chair over it for good measure.
She was half grateful half worried that the room had no windows. But, she did notice she and SweetPea had an adjoining door in the middle of the two rooms as a connection if needed.
Audrey got ready for bed, noticing how cold it was with the marble flooring and tucked herself under the blankets, eyes wide awake but she tried to sleep as best she could.
-
After about an hour she heard a tapping from the shared wall between her and Sweet Pea's room.
It wasn't the distress call and it wasn't the "okay" code either, so she walked over to the shared door, and tried to call through it.
"What?" she asked in a loud whisper.
"Are you asleep?" he asked, also loud whispering.
"No. I sleep talk." Audrey said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
Sweet Pea stifled a laugh from his side.
"Oh, that's pretty neat" he said in a dead pan voice.
