10 years laterI fulfilled my promise to my wife and spent the last 10 years devoting my time and energy primarily to her and our family. Business and society were still important for the future of our family, of course, but they would never again take precedence over the truly important people in my life, which now included two more children, Charles and Emma. Our family lives in Ashbury for the better part of the year with my mother, with various family members and friends often coming to stay with us.
One thing I am certain of is that when someone mentions love, happiness, and family to my children in the future, they will conjure the image of me and Sophie in their minds. We've built a loving home for them, and they are growing up in the idyllic countryside surrounded by cousins and close family, since Isabella and Frederick also moved up here after their marriage 9 years ago. Talbot is now, despite my wife's initial grumbling, always welcome in our home, having learned his lesson on the value of love from none other than my little sister. Our kids are the best of friends, they have three as well and he would not mind some more. Oh how the mighty have fallen! I often needle him about what an unfashionable man he's become and he just grins at me, not bothered in the least.
I never again did anything to harm our bond, to break my wife's trust, to endanger her feelings for me, and every night when I enter our room, I am reminded of how I was once expelled from the sanctuary of her closeness, and how miserable my existence was without her. I am in awe of her strength and forgiveness, and I will be eternally grateful to her for the love and family we now share.
That's all, folks! Short and sweet :)

I'm trying to decide between a more typical werewolf story and a mafia story for my next one! Stay tuned.
