Author's POV:
It was two days before the big day, that the haldi ceremony was taking place. All the family members were in their respective rooms now. They were getting dressed for the Haldi Ceremony.
Suharika was on a phone call while trying to wear her bangles, but she could not. Suharika's fingers fumbled with the delicate bangles, her brow furrowing as the phone balanced precariously between her shoulder and ear. She huffed in annoyance, the bangles clinking in a discordant symphony with her mounting irritation.
Suharika's Outfit:
Rudransh, who was walking by, saw this and looked at her in admiration. He praised her in his mind for being so dedicated to her work. He stepped closer to her and silently took her hand in his. He also took bangles from her hands.
Rudransh's Outfit:
Rudransh's fingers were gentle yet firm as they slid the bangles onto Suharika's wrists, his touch sending a subtle shiver up her arm. He took his time, ensuring each bangle was perfectly placed, his fingers occasionally brushing against her skin, lingering just a moment too long in a silent conversation of their own.
Suharika's voice was steady as she spoke into the phone, dictating tasks with practiced ease. Yet, beneath her composed exterior, her heart raced at Rudransh's proximity.
She dictated tasks to her secretary. There was a time when her words almost caught in her throat as Rudransh's thumb grazed the delicate pulse point on her wrist.
As the final bangle clicked into place, Rudransh withdrew his hands slowly, as if reluctant to break the connection. Suharika turned to him, a wordless 'thank you' in her eyes, feeling an unexpected sense of loss at the absence of his touch. By then, the call also came to an end.
