Alcina POV

'Don't just stand here go to her I want to touch her'

Ignoring Dragliśe giving me a headache as she yells about wanting to touch our mate. As we both look at each other I notice how small she is and wait is she ....

A deep growl reverberates in my chest it's so loud even my mate flinches back and let out a small whimper. 'Look what you did you oversized lizard you scared our mate'  'I'm sorry Al but that's probably what Miranda meant by she was getting hurt someone was hurting her that's the pain we felt'

Whoever did this to my little mate will pay for what they've done. I manage to calm myself and Dragliśe enough to try to comfort my mate as I take a step she takes one back. I stop walking looking at her she looks like she's seconds away from tears 'Let me take over I can try to reach her this way' 'Don't scare her away from us be gentle'  'Trust me she's my mate too I love her already I would never hurt her.'

Letting Dragliśe take over was a little painful but we need to comfort our mate. I know I'm not the size of a normal person and could scare her but she's my mate and she has to know even though I'm this size I would never hurt her. Looking around I see a bunch of maids holding what I think is her belongings next I spot the Duke with more suitcases that's good because my mate will not be leaving anytime soon. She whimpers again as I approach her backing up until her back hits the wall.

I stop a few feet away and get down on my knees hearing a loud chorus of gasps which only pisses off Dragliśe making her want to kill them for interrupting her from comforting her mate, I remind her to focus on our little mate and we can handle them later. We cock our head to the side trying to figure out how to get our mate to come to us.

"Hello little one what's your name." When she doesn't answer we try again. "I'm Dragliśe Alcina's dragon counterpart. We are mates little one and we would love to hold you if you'd like."
We wait for her to respond but instead her eyes change from an almost transparent gray to a bright honey color not going to lie it excited us to know our mate wasn't human.

"Hi I'm Liv Enchantress' counterpart." She says a little shy but it makes us smile nonetheless. 'Enchantress our mate has a beautiful name Al' 'I know I can't wait to hold her and spoil her'

"You both have really beautiful names and eyes." Liv blushes. "T Thank you, you do too."

"Liv sweetheart can you help me help Enchantress feel safe and better." She nods her head batting her little eyelashes and oh my goodness she's so cute. "Why is she afraid is she afraid of me" I asked hoping she's not.

"She's not scared of you she's just afraid you'll reject us and cause us pain we can't handle anymore pain." "Why would she think that you're our mate we would never hurt you." "E saw you look at our belly and then you growled she said you were going to reject us or hurt our baby so she wanted to hide from you."

"Oh no no Alcina wasn't growling it was me you see for almost the last two years I have been in pain and didn't know why until earlier. I learned about the mate bond and that both of you were being hurt in some way so when I saw your stomach I got mad that someone did that to you. Liv please tell Enchantress that I will never hurt her, you or the baby I would love to have all of you." Dragliśe says.

"She said okay she will come back if Alcina does as well." My heart started beating rapidly I'll finally get a chance to talk to her. "Sure we can do that I'll recede first." Dragliśe says before receding 'Don't fuck this up big Al' 'Go suck on your own tail'

"Okay darling your turn" I say hoping she believes us enough to come forward. I didn't have to wait long before Liv's honey golden orbs vanished and her transparent gray eyes reappear. "Hey sweetie I accept you as my mate I would never reject you."

"Really, do you mean it or are you lying."

"I promise on my life and my daughters I would never hurt you everything I said to Liv is the truth I promise little one. I give yo ..."
Before I could finish she rushes into my arms hugging me as best as she could burrowing her face into the crook of my neck. 'She's so precious and small she smells amazing' 'I know I just want to hold her forever'

We stay in that position for what seems hours but really only a few minutes. "Little one can I pick you up and take you to the meeting room we have a lot to discuss."  "Yes" she nods looking up at me as I stand instructing the maids to leave and take her belongings to the room next to mine. "Can the Duke come too" she says softly before putting her head back into her little hiding place. I chuckle "Of course he can come" "Duke follow my daughters to the meeting room I'm sure Mother Miranda is still there" telling him before taking my mate so she can changed and cleaned up.

I decided to take the long way to her chambers which is connected to mine which she doesn't know about yet. "Darling this is your chambers and mine are just next door, inside you have an en suite do change and come back to me. The maids should have already come and placed your things inside I'll wait here."

Even though I just met her I'm reluctant to put her down scared she'll run away. She's had a pretty hard day and I don't want to leave her alone but I'm not sure if she'll be comfortable with me in the room when she changes. With a long sigh I go to place her down but she snuggles up to me more making a purr noise echo from me and if I'm not mistaken she reciprocates the purrs. After a moment she pulls back looking up at me like a sad little puppy.

"Can you come with me I don't want to be alone please Alcina." It broke my heart hearing her voice tremble and shake so I agree. "Yes sweetheart I'll stay for as long as you want" I say before carrying her into the room.
