Yunjin rolled up her window once Hanni disappeared inside the hotel.
"Back to your hotel, Ms. Huh?"
"Yes, Kai. I'm at the team hotel, the address is..."
"I know exactly where it is. I'll have you there in under 30 minutes."
"I'm sorry to make you drive all the way across town again. Coming out of the bar, I was spinning, didn't even think..."
"Please, Ms. Huh. I meant what I said, it truly is an honor to drive you. What you and your team have accomplished is so inspiring."
"You're very sweet. But please don't call me Ms. Huh."
"Yunjin." Kai said, sounding a bit in awe.
Yunjin chuckled. "And what should I call you?"
"Just Kai is perfect."
"Hmmm...I agree, Kai is perfect." Yunjin murmured.
"Pardon, ma'am?"
"Nothing. And I asked you to call me Yunjin." She teased, then said to herself: Though 'ma'am' is kinda hot.
"Of course. Yunjin." Kai added, as if to demonstrate she could actually do it. "Is there anything else you need? Any food or drink you'd like to pick up before returning to your hotel?"
"The city seems pretty shutdown right now." Yunjin observed. She was thinking it would be nice to ask Kai to have coffee with her, but the chances of finding anything open looked slim.
"I'm sure I could find a 24-hour 7-11 if there's anything you need."
What I really need is to get your adorable ass into my bed. Yunjin mused to herself. She was utterly charmed by the driver's earnest concern for her welfare. But instead she said:
"No need, Kai. I'll hit the vending machines if I get hungry. What I really want is to get into bed."
"Of course. I'll have you there as quickly as possible."
"Thanks." She leaned her head back against the seat to ponder her options. She was still juiced from the victory and alcohol and dancing. She wasn't ready for the night to end, and was very attracted to the driver. She and James had decided to take a break, even date other people, weeks ago when they'd been having problems. Faced with spending weeks apart while she would be training and playing in the World Cup, they both agreed it was the right time. She'd missed him, but it hadn't been as hard as she thought to be apart. They still talked now and then. She'd heard through her sister that he'd been out with a new reporter who Lois worked with at the Planet. But was she really about to try to seduce a driver she just met?
"So, Kai. Driving for Minji Kim, you must have some stories..."
"Oh, well. I would never..."
"Of course! I meant it rhetorically. I'm sure she has you in an iron-clad NDA anyway." Yunjin teased.
"Well, yes. But even if I wasn't, that isn't something I would do." Kai said simply.
You are perfect. Yunjin thought to herself. She realized that if something did happen between them, she wouldn't have to worry about it getting out to her team or worse, the press. Despite having just met, it was clear Kai was trustworthy and discreet. And at the very least she wanted to get to know the quiet driver better.
"Of course. I can tell you're excellent at what you do, and that wouldn't be professional."
"Yes, ma'am." Kai agreed, then added more solemnly "And I would never do anything that would harm Ms. Kim."
