"Minji!
Hanni tried to get up but got jerked to a stop by her seatbelt. After quickly releasing it she jumped up to hug Minji, but by the time she did Minji had already tried to help her and they collided when she was half way up.
"Oouff." Minji said as her face hit the top of Hanni's head.
"Sorry!" Hanni apologized as they at last managed to get their arms around each other. Both were laughing at what a ridiculous sight they must be.
But once their bodies came together they felt a sense of calm, like all was finally right with the world. Minji nuzzled her nose against Hanni's neck and took a deep breath, followed by a relieved sigh.
"God, I missed you."
"Me too." Hanni felt a single tear of happiness slip down her cheek. "That felt like the longest two weeks of my life."
Minji squeezed her tighter. "Me too, baby."
They stayed wrapped in each other's arms for several moments, breathing deeply and not wanting to let go. Both had so many questions for the other, but knew none of it really mattered. What mattered was that they were together. They would talk through everything in time.
She pulled back to look at Hanni, then noticed the trail of a tear on her cheek. She cradled her chin and kissed it away, then took her hand.
"Everything OK, darling?"
"Everything is perfect." Hanni said. She couldn't keep herself from smiling from ear to ear. "I can't believe this is happening."
"I know, I feel like I might wake up from a dream at any moment. Two whole weeks together..." Minji felt her voice dropping lower of its own accord. "Uninterrupted."
"Please. Don't jinx us."
"Doesn't matter. We can handle whatever comes." She reached for Hanni's hand again and kissed the tips of her fingers. She really wanted to be in contact with her in any capacity.
Hanni squeezed her hand and sighed. "OK. Yeah."
"I promise." Minji pulled Hanni's fingers to her lips.
"After you announced you love me on national television - are there any reveals left we need to worry about?"
"Right, um. Sorry about that. If you were embarrassed. I know we didn't talk about anything like that. I wasn't supposed to get into anything personal during that interview. It just...happened."
"Hmm, right, I was embarrassed that the most beautiful, talented, charming, not to mention famous, woman in the world said that she loves me on national television." Minji teased. "Believe me, I've been through worse."
Hanni giggled. "Well, we should have talked about it first. Especially given all you were dealing with at KCorp."
"I don't have to worry about them anymore, Hanni." Minji said and swallowed hard at the realization that it was now really behind her. It was a slightly terrifying yet exhilarating thought.
"Are you OK? I mean, have you had second thoughts?" Hanni saw the flash across Minji's face.
"No, Hanni. I know it was the right thing to do."
"Even if it was, it's a huge change for you. KCorp is a huge part of your life. Your family's and also your professional life."
"It was an important part of my life. But I've outgrown it. I'm ready for more. More agency over my own life. The thought of not answering to that Board...makes me feel free. And it frees us too, Hanni. We don't have to worry about how our decisions, how our life together, affects KCorp."
