Chapter 71

Hanni woke up to the first rays of dawn shining through the cabin window. She took a moment to luxuriate in the feeling of the warmth of the sun, and wonderful silk sheets against her naked skin. It took her a few moments to remember where she was, and then she immediately reached to the other side of the bed for Minji. She had a flash of concern when she found the space empty. But she wasn't too alarmed as she reminded herself that they were on a gorgeous island in the middle of nowhere, and she was not yet half way through her 2-week vacation with the woman of her dreams.

Of course, that delight quickly faded as the events of the previous day started coming back to her. First, there was the ecstacy of being together on the beach. She flashed on the feeling of cuming in Minji's mouth, and at almost the same moment her own mouth was filled with Minji's release. Hanni remembered the taste of her, and the bone-shaking feeling of Minji cuming so hard as Hanni sucked. Just before...just before they heard someone calling - Yujin! She recognized the far off voice calling them from the edge of the forest.

Then another realization as the memory of Yujin shouting at them flashed across her mind. While they were both completely naked, literally in each other's mouths, the shocking interruption. Hanni's eyes fluttered at the thought of it, but the easy mood she woke up to was obliterated at the memory of Yujin's words...

"Minji! There was...an emergency transmission...at the base. I think it's about Taehyung..."

At that Hanni sat straight up in bed as it all came flooding back to her. The vague message that didn't do much more than alarm them while providing few answers. The realization that it was the middle of the night back home, and that it was way too late to reach any of the people that might be helpful. Soon they decided to try to get some rest in the meantime. She realized Minji must have gotten up before sunrise to head to the base and start trying to reach people. Of course Hanni's phone was useless in the cabin, so she just had to wait.

Her stomach got the message about the wait and began to growl. She made her way to the kitchenette and dug out some energy bars. She was half way through her second bar and thinking of heading out to the beach when Minji breezed through the door, her eyes wild.

"Minji!" She said breathlessly. Hanni was starting to get worried. "Any news?"

Minji just looked at her for several moments, like she was very reluctant to bring Hanni into her disaster. But at the sight of Hanni's anxious face she knew she had to spill.

"Well, it seems big brother is at it again." She let out a long breath. "That dark hole they put him in at the National Intelligence Service was not deep or dark enough to keep him."

"What happened?"

Minji flopped down on a low, wide couch and gestured for Hanni to come sit. Once she'd settled in, Minji began to download the information she'd gathered from contacts she'd made from the base station. Despite her resignation from KCorp, she still maintained a small team of people to handle her own business and security, including a few she had poached from KCorp. And then there was one secret member who had remained an employee of KCorp, but had agreed to be her eyes and ears inside. Despite her determination to leave it all behind, it seemed too risky to lose all access to KCorp.

Members of her staff were already tracking the situation and reported that Taehyung had managed to get legal representation, despite being in what was essentially a black site for terrorists run by the government. Whether it was through charming or bribing a NIS employee, he'd managed to get a top law firm to take his civil rights case, arguing that he had a right to the due process of law. Ultimately they were able to get a court date that would hear his argument that he could not be locked away without a fair trial.
