(Y/N POV)

(Side Note: Ahma prefers referring to humans using the Japanese word ningen.)

A few hours later, Ayumi was in her room, hugging her knees to her chest and sniffling.

Light didn't save me. Instead, he got mad at me. What did I do this time?

"You seem depressed," Ahma states.

"No shit," Ayumi grumbles.

"Is it that lightbulb boy again? Whatever his name is."

"Light," Ayumi corrects.

"What-fucking-ever. What's even up with you, huh?"

"Light got mad at me again.."

"For what? Did you not make his sandwich quick enough?"

"Are you making fun of me?!" Ayumi shouts.

"Is it not obvious enough?" Ahma replies with a smirk.

Ayumi glares at Ahma. "Are all Shinigamis like this?"

"Nope. It's mainly just me."

"At least I can rely on Ryuk."

"Ah, shit. Not that guy again. Rumor has it that bastard managed to get a second Death Note."

"It's not possible?"

"It's not that it's impossible; it's just that there isn't many ways to get a second one. Anyhoo, Death Gods need two if they want to get a human. One for them, one for the ningen."

"What happens if the Shinigamis don't have one?"

Ahma shrugs. "Think they die, or something. I wouldn't know 'cause managed to get three."

Ayumi widens her eyes. "Three.. How..?"

Ahma smirks. "Wanna know a secret? Ningens can kill Shinigamis."

"I could...kill you?"

Ahma laughs. "Don't make me laugh. Not me, dumbass. But you could still kill some. All you have to do is get them to fall in love with you?"

"That's it?"

"Hmph. You're saying that like it's easy. Do you think you could make heartless Ryuk or narcissist me fall for you?"

"Well...now that you say it.."

"Exactly. The reason why they die isn't because they love the ningen, well, it's part of it, but the main reason is that love will eventually drag them to kill the other ningen that causes their death, which lengthens their lifespan. That's what they get killed for."

"So they die because they killed someone with the intention to lengthen their loved ones life?"

"Yeah. Crazy bullshit. You're never gonna be able to get with them anyways, so what's the point? Even Death Gods act like idiots sometimes."

"I don't know. Try falling in love, Ahma. Maybe then you wouldn't be saying that."

"I'll pass."

The two of them pause briefly.

"That Misa Amane's really a killer. She got two gamis dead," Ahma mumbles.

Ayumi perks up. "Amane? You mean the actress? What do you mean?"

Ahma grins. "Ah shit. You heard me. Should I really tell you though?"

"Please?"

"It'll be a lot to take in, sweetheart."

"I can take it!"

"Alright. I'll speak. I heard this all from Ryuk. You see..."

Ayumi's eyes are wide and she's heartbroken. "W-wait! So you're saying---"

"Bingo, princess. Light doesn't give a shit about you, or Takada, or Amane."

"B-but what about all those times we kissed, a-and made out, and-"

"Doesn't matter. He probably did the same with the other three women."

"... So you're saying I've been used?"

"Exactly."

Ayumi looks down and laughs sadly. "Wow.. And I sold half my life for some stupid eyes."

"No, you didn't."

Ayumi looks up in surprise.

"What do you mean I didn't?! I-I asked you for the deal a-and I-" She pauses. "Wait..."

Ahma smirks. "Figured it out yet?"

"You...never did the trade."

"Yup. Because all you said was I wanna make the deal. You never specified on what deal. It could've just been a deal between us as friends. So... You still have your full life. And from my gems, I can see you're gonna live a long one."

"YES!" Ayumi springs up and starts jumping on her bed.

"Hmph. Dumb is a fun game to play."

"I'M NOT GONNA DIE EARLY!"

"Not guaranteed. Just keep yourself safe."

"Wait! But what about Light. What'll he do if he finds out?"

"If he finds out. Let me say something again. Ryuk switched the Death Notes Yagami-kun had. He replaced "yours" with Misa's but Rem wasn't there since she's dead. Then, after he left the book, that's when I decided to posses the notebook. So, only you can see and hear me, dear."

"So then what?"

"Are you just stupid? If he asks you for someone, I'll just tell you. Hope you can act better than Amane."

Ayumi is so overjoyed that she jumps to hug Ahma, but Ahma moves aside, causing Ayumi to land on her stomach instead on the ground.

"Don't touch me, ningen. You mortals are so physical."

"Gah..." Ayumi grunts. "I'm alright."

"No one asked."

Ayumi sits back up and rubs her head and stomach. "I'm still mad at Light for playing me though. I need to break up with him."

"Don't."

"How come? He's clearly a cheater."

"For one, Ryuk and I wanna see this play out. Also, I just have a little plan for ya."

"Tell me, Ahmie!"

"Ahmie- What the fuck is that nickname?!" she scowls. "You're so lucky I tolerate you ningen. Now listen here..."
