VARAY AURAE

Arthur’s figure suddenly disappeared; if he teleported away. What replaced his figure was the sparks of purple electricity.

“Shall we go now, Generals?” Commander asked us, I looked at his position once again and nodded. Alea followed the Commander into the portal while me and the other Lances flew to the castle.

While we were meters above the ground, Bairon muttered something, “Arthur Leywin, he seems familiar…” I interrupted Bairon.

“He said to Alea that you and her met her in Xyrus.”

Bairon’s eyes then lit up, and then turned dark, as if he was thinking something complex.

“His powers are something we haven’t even seen before. How is a spell or technique of his allowed him to fly without even reaching the heights we’ve reached?” Bairon uttered. I agree with him, something was different about Arthur.

“What do you think, Varay?” I looked at the questioner and saw Aya smirking while wiggling her brows. “What do I think?” Ignoring her antics, I began to ponder, a boy full of mysteries with powers uncanny to reality.

“I think he'll be a great help in the upcoming war,” I sighed.

“Is that all? What about his looks?”

Bairon sensed her intention and flew faster. As Bairon swiftly flew, I saw Aya’s face now more clearly, she was looking at me with her eyes wiggling and a smile that I know too well.

“He’s a kid for god sake, Aya!” I retorted.

“Oh please, miss genius. You’re literally 20 years old,” Aya rebutted.

(Changed her age, for plot purposes.)

I sighed and flew faster.

Her question lingered inside my mind, what do I think about his looks huh.

I closed my eyes and began to picture his face. His hair, his eyes, his smile, his voice and his expressions. My face flushed and I placed my hand on my mouth.

“Oh, would you look at this! The stoic lance is showing emotion!” Aya laughed, while pointing at me. Trying to hide my smile from Aya, only for her to shout it.

“Well be faster now, Lance Zero. Or I might just steal him from you,” Aya licked her lips. I felt my lips twitch and turned to a scowl. I halt my move and gaze at Aya.

“Geez, I was joking,” My fellow Lance shrugged.

“We’re here,” Bairon announced ahead of us.

…

We landed and began walking towards the huge door. The 2 guards that were guarding the door saluted when they saw us, and opened the door.

“I’m going to wash up,” I said to them. Bairon nodded, on the other hand, Aya smiled—her smile reached her ears. “Don’t think of Arthur that much,” I finally felt something inside me snapped, I opened my palm and conjured small ice shards.

I shot it towards Aya who used Bairon’s back as a shield, she then peeked from his shoulder and took out her tongue—before cackling and disappearing.

I massaged the temple of my nose, her and that stupid childish antics of hers. Walking towards my room, as I marched through the hallway—some of the maids greeted me as we walk passed each other.

I entered my room, took out my white tunic and revealed my shirt underneath. My hands covered my eyes as I thought of the situation earlier.

I’ll think about it later, I currently smell bad.
