ARTHUR LEYWIN

“High-silver…” I trailed off, Tessia’s eyes slowly opened—she looked to her right and saw Virion. Then finally, her gaze landed upon me—slightly they opened wide, her lips curling upwards.

“Hey, Arthur…” Tessia blushed, I conjured an earthen pillar and made her sit on it. “Hold the blanket, you’re naked,” I warned. Tessia realizing what I just said, blushed the tip of her ears shaking.

“W-what happened?” She stuttered. “Why didn’t you wait for me to help you assimilate with your beast will,” Virion sighed, his hand scratching his head.

“Hehe,” Tessia sheepishly said and scratched the back of her head. Virion gaze turned to me and mouthed follow me, “Wait here Tess, I’m going to talk to Virion a little bit.” She nodded at my words and began swaying her feet while humming.

“So, what exactly did you do?” He asked, his gaze stern.

“To be honest, I removed the curse within her beast will.” I answered, my voice slightly shaking—afraid that he might get mad because I gave her granddaughter a corrupt beast will. Virion placed his hands on my shoulder.

“No need to shake Arthur, I’m not mad.” Virion smiled.

“But how did you know her beast will was corrupted?”

“I had an inkling.”

“That doesn’t entirely explain how she reached high-silver,” His brow furrowed. I know, I looked back and saw her playing with the butterflies, one hand holding the blanket in place and one hand reaching to the rainbow butterfly.

“I honestly don’t know Virion,” I sighed. Perhaps it’s because of my presence, by removing the black fog inside her using aether—aether must’ve influenced her core to ascend. But that doesn’t make sense, because it never happened to me.

Maybe her being the Legacy helps with it. Though, I’m not sure about this one. I’d rather lean on to my first theory. But that kind of revelation didn’t happen to me, but I guess, I never did try to influence my core using aether—in the way I used it to them.

All this thinking is hurting my head.

Virion nodded and gestured for me to follow him. “I’ll tell Alduin and Merial what happened, for now accompany Tessia,” I nodded at his words and made my way towards Tessia. “Hey, Tess, how are you?” I conjured another earthen pillar next to hers.

Her gaze peeled away from the butterfly and turned to me. “Hello, Art!” She squealed and smiled. “How did you even know it was me?” I asked while chuckling. “You can change your appearance all you can, but I’ll still know it’s you.”

Tessia, I’m sorry. Though, I promise, this time I won’t let Agrona touch a single strand of your hair. I closed my eyes and tried to feel my heart, trying to sense it beating. I’m sorry again, I’ll tell you the truth when the time comes.

You still probably think, I am just dense and haven’t truly realized what I am feeling for you. Though that’s in the past now, I wanted to love you, no I did love you in the past.

But now? I just can’t.

Like how the way the leaf flew away from the tree, my love strayed away too.

I value our relationship, after this, would you still think of me as your friend, or best friend?

‘Papa, I know it’s hard. But it’ll get harder for mama to accept things if you don’t tell her now before the war starts. Mama would understand,’ Sylvie sent.
