"Hukum?"I called him in a slow voice almost audible to him. He turned back and I saw those deep greenish eyes that mesmerized me for a few good moments.
"Princess?... Are you okay?"
I was brought out of my world when I heard him calling me and immediately nodded and wished him.
"So.... How are you princess Nayantara?"
I didn't know why but I liked it when he spoke my name. He had curly, shoulder length hair with a strong muscular body. I felt like a tiny human in front of him.
"I am fine Hukum. Welcome to our kingdom."
He nodded and said.
"Well, I am aware princess that you might be shocked by my sudden arrival here. But it was somehow urgent as I wanted to talk to you about something."
His words made me nervous and somewhere knots formed in my stomach.
Did he knew about the war I fought? Or was there any demand?
"Vivah se pehle humara ye janna zaruri hai ki aapki isme sehmati hai?"
"Before the preparations, I wanted to know if you are willing for the marriage?"
For a few moments I was confused what to answer. I wanted to confess that I am forced. But a single 'no' to this wedding could bring suffering to my brother for whom I was ready to sacrifice anything. I couldn't deny.
"Please tell me princess."
Thinking about my brother, I answered him.
"Hum iss vivah ke liye apne Mann se raazi hai, Hukum."
I couldn't think of anything else than my Bhai saheb. He was everything to me.
"If you are willing, it's totally good. But before we head towards a new relationship, I want to tell you something."
I couldn't say anything but nod asking him what he wanted.
"Vivah ke baad aap humare Pratapgarh ki maharani hongi. Aapko hamari patni hone ka har sukh milega, har suvidha milegi. Kisi cheez ki kami mehsus na hone denge. Parantu... Hum aapse kabhi prem na kar payenge."
"After our marriage, you will be the queen of Pratapgarh. You will get every right of being my wife. You will never be deprived of anything. But... I can't ever love you."
He said and I stood frozen there. Somewhere, I didn't expect it.
"Aap ye na samajhiyega ki humari zindagi me koi aur hai. Humne kisi se prem nai kara aaj tak. Parantu kisi wajah se hume iss Prem se nafrat hai."
"Don't misunderstand me that I have someone else in my life. But due to some reason, I hate this love."
He paused for a moment and spoke again.
"Hum bas yahi kehna chahte hai ki ye sab janne ke baad agar aap humse vivah nahi karna chahti to aap bata sakti hai, hume koi dikkat nahi."
"I just want to ask if you are still willing to marry me or not after knowing the truth. I will respect your decision."
And now it was all on me. I didn't want to marry neither he looks that interesting in marriage. But if I deny, it could bring any suffering to my brother. I have to agree.
"I have no problem Hukum. I will marry you."
I agreed to him and accepted my destiny. He asked me again if I was sure. But I had no other option left with me. I assured Hukum about my decision once again.
He nodded and held my hand. A thousand butterflies erupted in my stomach due to his single touch. I felt as if my cheeks were blushing hard but I tried to hide it in front of him. Then he said.
"Now when we are going to tie in a new relationship, I promise that you are my responsibility and will be provided with every right."
I nodded whatever he said and asked his permission to leave. He agreed and I left his chamber running from there through the garden, galleries and my anklet bells spreading their sound everywhere.
I reached my chamber and saw myself in the mirror. My cheeks had become red but I tried to calm myself and remembered whatever happened just now.
Just a mere touch affected me too much. How will everything work after we will marry.
Just then I heard a knock on the door.
