Nayantara's POV

Chandra returned, jumping and cheering happily.

"Nayan everything seems to be so cheerful outside as if a festival is being celebrated."

I didn't pay much attention to her words as I was lost in my own world of worries. Also I had kept the fast until the wedding rituals are fulfilled.

Time passed like that for almost an hour and that's when bhabhisa entered.

"Nayan... Niche jaane ka samay aagya hai."

I was frozen for a moment at my place. The time was here when I will leave everything back to move ahead. Bhabhisa adjusted my veil and pulled it down. Somehow I handled my thoughts and started moving with bhabhisa and Chandra along with a group of attendees behind us.

Walking a little, we reached to the entrance leading to the hawan kund. Trumpets were started blowing. Some of them starting welcoming by showering flowers. Because of the long veil, I was unable to see clearly where was my family.

Suddenly, I felt Bhaisa's hand on my shoulder and he directed me towards the hawan kund. The moment we reached, he asked me to climb the stairs towards him. Rana Dev Pratap.

Nervousness peaked in my body and I was shivering while stepping the stairs. And it became worse the moment, I was about to slip on the last stair and fall when he held my hand.

There was a sudden silence in the surroundings. All eyes were on us. I even heard some low whispers.

Oh no... I messed up everything.

Just then, he asked me.

"Aap thik hain?... Rajkumari?"

"Are you fine?... Princess?" I simply nodded in reply. I already lost all my courage to even speak because of embarrassment.

I handled myself but he still didn't leave my hand and took me towards our seats infront of the sacred fire.

We settled ourselves and the head priest started chanting the mantras. As he said, I adjoined my hands and started praying to God and our ancestors.

Then, he called my parents for the Kanya daan ritual. They came and the ritual as the the priest said. Finishing it, finally baapusa kept his hand on my head, granting me his blessings.

Reciting more mantras, he asked for the gathbandhan and the pheras. A young girl came infront for the gathbandhan, maybe his younger sister. We stood up and started the phere, he was in my front.

He took the first vow.

"Aap humari annpurna hongi aur hum har karya me aapki sahayta karenge. Aapko har sukh suvidha denge."

"You will offer me food and I will be helpful to you in every way. I will provide welfare and happiness for you."

Then I took the vow.

"Hum aapke ghar ko sambhalne ki zimmedari lete hai or aapke har stithi me aapke sath rahenge "

"I will be responsible for the home and will always live with you in any condition."

Continuing, we took the next vows and reached the last one. He said.

"Hum aapko vachan dete hai ki humesha khush rakhenge aur aap hi humari ardhangini rahengi."

"I promise to keep you happy akand you will be my only wife."

"Hum vachan dete hai ki iss atal bandhan me hum aapko khush rakhenge, aapke sath."

"I promise that I will keep you happy in this strong bond of marriage."

I said.

With that, the head priest gave him the mangalsutra. He came a bit closer to my face and tied it around my neck. That moment, from my veil, I somehow saw his emerald green eyes that captivated my mind for a few moments.

I wondered how his eyes always captivated me.

At last, he was given the sindoor. My veil and headpiece were lifted up a little by someone and I saw him clearly. He applied the sindoor from which, a little fell on my nose and I heard some giggles from behind.

What was there to laugh in it?

"Vivah sampann hua. Iss shran se aap dono pati patni hai."

This was it now. I was his wife. Mahadev, bless me to embrace a new phase of my life.

I prayed in my mind.

We were asked to seek blessings from all the elders. We first went to his mother.

"Bhagwan aap dono ko sada khush rakhe. Rajkumari Nayantara, aapko apni putravadhu ke roop me paake hum bohot khush hai."

She said it and kissed my forehead, blessing us.

Then it was my parents. I hugged my mother and she was sobbing.

"Take care of yourself my princess. I am sorry for not supporting you."

She said in low voice and I just nodded. Beside was my father talking to his son-in-law. I went to hug him and he whispered in my ear slowly.

"Hum umeed rakhte hai ki humari izzat bnaye rakhogi udhar. Yudh me ladna, astra - shastra seekhna, ye sab karne ke baare me sochiyega bhi matt."

"I hope you will maintain my dignity there. Don't even think about fighting in battles, learning weapon skills."

My eyes teared up listening his harsh words. Even in my last moments in my home, he didn't bother to bless me, love me. All he cared was about his dignity.

Just then, Bhaisa and bhabhisa came and he hugged me tightly. I sobbed in his arms. He was the one who loves me the most.

"Apna dhyan rakhiyega. Kabhi bhi apne bhaisa ki yaad aaye ya zarurat pade, humare paas aa jaiyega. Patra bhejte rehna."

"Take care of yourself. Whenever you need me, just come back. Keep sending the letters."

I sobbed more, listening to him. Just then, Dev Pratap came closer to us.
