ElISE POV
The university cafeteria hummed with the usual midday chatter, trays clattering and students weaving through lines. We sat at a corner table with my annoying friend, Dayne, half-listening to her talk about the upcoming exams while absentmindedly picking at her salad. It was a typical Thursday lunch break, a moment of respite amidst the whirlwind of lectures and assignments.
"You've been quiet today" Dayne remarked, shooting me a curious glance. "Everything okay?" Tsk!
"I'm upset with you yesterday, why'd you tell me that no class with Miss Enrile you know her she's been hot headed when it comes to me" I cursed her with my crossed arm while she give me a puppy eyes.
"I thought so too but Love text me that she arrived in our classroom early" Who's Love now, this chics magnet.
"Who's Love?" I teased her and she's a little bit panicking.
"She's our classmates okay? Nothing more, Nothing less" Ow, defensive much.
"Okay, you say so then shut your mouth! One more word comes to your tounge I cut that you understand?" I reluctantly said and pointed my fork to her, she raised her both arms and act like she zip her mouth and proceed eating.
As I glanced around the bustling room, my gaze unexpectedly locked onto a familiar figure across the cafeteria — Allesia.
She's sitting with the corner talking to her friend, I guess they seem literally close to the way she's smiling but I noticed she's wearing thick glass. She's cute.
I don't know how many minutes I stared at her because I was amazed by her beauty.
"I noticed you've been staring at that girl for a while. Do you know her?" I looked at her and glared.
"I told you not to talk" I said angrily.
"I'm just asking,Why are you so mad?" She replied.
"I know her from somewhere. Now, finish what you're eating because we still have class," I said, leaning back in my chair as I lost my appetite.
"You like her?"she teased.
"Say one more word and I'll really cut off your tongue" I said angrily because I could feel my cheeks getting hot. I glanced again at where Allesia was and was surprised to see her looking at me too, so I immediately looked away and drank some water. My heart beating so fast. What just happened?
When she finished, I stood up first and walked out. She hurried to catch up with me. I don't know why, but I was so annoyed with her because she always liked to irritate me.
When we arrived at the classroom, I immediately sat down by the window.Dayne was about to speak when I glared at him.
"Okay, okay, I won't say anything," she said, taking out his phone and starting to play a game. I buried my head in my arms since our class wouldn't start for a while.
When I closed my eyes, Allesia's face appeared. Fuck! What's happening to me? Do I really like her? No of course!
After a while, our professor arrived. As I listened, I couldn't understand anything she was saying because my mind was wandering and I couldn't focus.
The classroom buzzed with the usual chatter as students settled into their seats. Our professor, Mrs. Cruz, began writing notes on the board, preparing for the lesson on Architectural Design Studio II. I am usually a diligent student, sitting by the window, my notebook open but untouched.
My eyes wandered outside, where the trees swayed gently in the breeze. But my mind was elsewhere, replaying the moment from the cafeteria when I saw Allesia's smile. I couldn't shake the image of Allesia looking at me, our eyes meeting briefly. It sent a flutter through my chest that I couldn't explained.
