Alina's POV

I had a good sleep last night. I noticed how quiet the neighborhood was at night. I was not used to that. The streets in my neighborhood in New York were never so calm. At night I always heard the noises that came from outside, in my bedroom. It was the worst after a busy day at work and when in need of a good rest. Here it was like no one else existed.

When I came out of bed I took a shower and changed in to some comfy clothes. I was in need of a good breakfast, so I headed downstairs. The walk to the living area was so long. Armando's house was big. He had 3 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a basement full of cars and motorcycles and a kitchen as big as the garden. I asked myself why he needed this too big of a house for him alone. Did he moved here with somebody? Does he have a girlfriend that lives with him? Why does he need all of this space all for him alone. Isn't that kind of lonely? Being alone in such a big house?

When I entered the living area, I saw Armando sitting on the kitchen island with his laptop and some papers I recognized from the Miami PD. "You, a stone cold killer, is working for the police now?" I scoffed. "Goodmorning to you too Alina." Armando said a little bit annoyed as he continued to work on that. "What are those papers about?" I asked. "Mike has send me some important codes from a few illegal business that needs to be cracked. I'm just doing him a little favor." Armando said to me. I watched him being fully concentrated on his work. He seemed very intelligent. Mike told me that Armando had some hidden talent that he could use to help the Miami PD. I guess being a hacker was one of those things.

"Do you have any kind of food here for me so that I can make some breakfast?" I asked. "Yeah, in the refrigerator are some vegetables and eggs that you can use and there is some bread and crackers in the cabinets." He politely said. "Thank you, did you already eat I could make some scrambled eggs for us, if you want to?" Armando nodded. So I started making a good protein breakfast for us.

After we had eaten our breakfast, I told Armando a few updates about the cartels that Rita had given to me. He didn't seem to bother that much, but I noticed him writing everything down what I had said. I studied him for a bit. He didn't seem scared or something but he did seem a little paranoid about the cartels, what I totally get. Even as the (old) head of the Aretas cartel, he constantly needs to look behind his back.

Armando noticed that I was looking at him. "Alina can I ask you a question?" "Yeah of course." "Why did you want to come here? I mean you don't know me at all. You only know that I was a criminal, kind of escaped jail and that I'm Mike his son. What reason brought you really here?". I looked at him. I really didn't have that big of a reason, but I also couldn't tell him the real reason why I agreed on helping his father. The only thing I wanted was to protect the people I loved and the people they care about, from my dad.

"Because your father did a lot for me when I was a few years younger. I thought it couldn't hurt to do him a favor." I said. "How long have you knew him?" Armando asked. "I knew your dad since I was 20 I think. I was studying at Harvard back then when he started dating my guardian, Rita. That didn't last for long but he always made sure I was doing good at college and work." I told Armando. He showed no emotions, but I could tell that it hurted him a little that he didn't know earlier who his real father was. "Did he ever tell you about me in a way a father does?" Armando asked in a curious way. I looked at him and smiled. "Yes he speaks a lot about you. He told me that he hates the fact that he couldn't be the father you needed when growing up. But he also knows he can be here for you now. I guess that why he wanted me to go to here. Someone he trusts to help and be there for his son when he can't." I told him. Armando stayed emotionless but I saw a little spark in his eyes when i told him that his father does care a lot about him.

----

It was already afternoon when i finished some papers to send back to Rita. Armando had left his house in the meantime. He said he needed to do something important. I didn't think that much about it, but with a criminal, you never know what they're up to. I decided to cook something for dinner. Armando did some groceries in the morning, so I had enough stuff to eat. After dinner I cleaned the kitchen and went upstairs to my bedroom to take some rest because it was alreay late in the evening. While laying down on my bed I heard Armando coming home. I heard him stumbling and grunting. I thought he had gotten himself drunk, so I decided to head downstairs to check on him if he was okay and if he needed help.

"Armando?" I called for him. "Go away Alina." He said in a harsh tone. "Did you drink?" I asked politely. "No I did not. Now go away Alina." He said a bit more irritated. I watched him stumble to the couch. "Well your walk tells me different. Here let me help you to the couch." I walked over to him to grab his arm but before I had the chance, he turned around and looked at me with an angry face and a dark look in his eyes. "Did you not hear me Alina?" "Go away." He almsot yelled in my face. I stepped away from him. Then i noticed his bleeding legg from something that looked like a gunshot and the cuts on his arms and how dirty his shirt was. "What did you do Armando?" I asked him in an anxious tone. "What do you think I did? What does it look like to you Alina? Now go away, go to your room. Don't make me ask you again."

Now I did what he said. I went to my room and didn't say a word to him anymore for the whole night. The only thing I thought of was what he could have done. Did he got into a fight. Did he kill somebody? Did somebody tried to kill him? And with those thoughts and a nervous feeling I fell asleep.

I will be posting a new chapter tomorrow. That chapter is going to be Armando's pov.

I hope y'all like it so far! :)
