Chapter 3

The Great Hall erupted into whispers as the girls finished introducing themselves.

"Please, girls, could you go to your House tables so we may continue?" asked Professor McGonagall with a nod toward the tables. The girls nodded in response and both made their way over to the Slytherin table. Fin slipped into a seat beside Regulus Black, while Sam sat next to Barty Crouch Jr.

"Why is a Ravenclaw sitting at the Slytherin table?" Lucius Malfoy sneered, casting a curious, suspicious glance at Sam.

"Well, Sam here is my best friend, so I'm allowing her to sit at this table," Fin replied casually.

"Hey, Sof, do you have that book I asked you about?" Sam whispered.

Fin patted her small bag with a grin. "Yeah, I think so. Thanks to that expansion spell, I've got pretty much everything in here."

"So, you two are from the future?" Regulus asked, leaning in.

"Yes, we are," Sam replied with a smirk, "and no, we're not telling you anything about it because—well, time-travel rules and all that."

The boys nodded, accepting her answer, and went on with their dinner.

Once dinner wrapped up, Fin grabbed Sam's arm and dragged her toward the Slytherin common room entrance.

"Sofina, do you even know the password?" Sam asked, her tone mockingly serious.

"Well, I mean... no?" Fin replied sheepishly, giving a dramatic shrug.

Just then, Regulus and Barty Jr. caught up with them. "Do you girls need help?" Barty teased, clearly entertained.

"NoOoO," Fin replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "We just happen to know the password, even though we aren't from this timeline," she added with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

Regulus stifled a laugh, while Barty sighed in mild annoyance. "The password is 'Salazar,'" Regulus offered to spare his friend from any more of Fin's mock glares.

"Thank you, Regulus," Sam said gratefully.

"Wait—how do you know my name? I never told you it," Regulus asked, his brow raised in surprise.

"Well... let's just say we know your brother in the future," Sam replied with a knowing smile. "He told us a few stories, all good, of course, and even showed us a picture." She slipped into the common room, dragging Fin along with her, leaving a puzzled Regulus behind.

"Hey, wait a second!" Barty called out. The girls stopped, glancing back at him.

"What?" Fin asked, tilting her head.

"We want to get to know you," Barty said.

Regulus raised his brows. "Really?" He asked.

"Yes, really," Barty confirmed, with a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Now come on, let's introduce you two to the others," Barty said, leading them further into the common room.

"Hey, everyone, gather around!" he called, motioning for a group of students to join them.

As they approached, he pointed each person out in turn. "So, these are Fin—Sofina—and Sam—Samia." He pointed to the others. "Fin, Sam, these are Severus Snape, Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Black, Bellatrix Black, Andromeda Black, Pandora Lestrange, Hephaestus Mulciber, Evan Rosier, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange, Gasper and Caius Avery—though we usually just call him Avery—and Emilia Lestrange."

"Oh, we know," Sam and Fin said at the same time, smiling at the group.

"Wait, so you really are the time travelers? But you don't look any older than us," Andromeda said, eyeing the girls with curiosity. "I always thought time travelers would be... well, old and... mysterious."

"Well, we're 18 and 17, so yeah, about your age," Sam replied, smiling. "Not some shadowy old ladies."

"Alright," Fin said, cutting in. "You all know who we are now, and we know who you are, so... could someone point out where I'm supposed to sleep?"

Narcissa and Andromeda stepped forward, guiding Fin toward the girls' dormitory. They led her to her bed, while Sam, already planning to stay with them so they could all be together, joined them. The four of them stayed up for a while, talking about everything under the stars—except the future.

Suddenly, Evan Rosier's voice rang out from downstairs. "GIRLS! COME BACK DOWN HERE!" There was a pause before he added, "PLEASE?"
