After the Potions class wrapped up, Sam and Fin joined the group that had gathered in the Slytherin common room. The ambiance was lively, filled with the low hum of chatter and laughter, creating a sense of camaraderie that was both comforting and exhilarating.

"So, what's the verdict on the Swelling Solution?" Barty Crouch Jr. asked as he leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms with an amused smile. "I can't believe you two managed to not blow anything up this time."

"Very funny, Barty," Sam retorted playfully, rolling her eyes. "But I think we've got the hang of Potions. It's just like riding a broomstick, right? A few rough starts and then you're soaring."

"And what about your houses?" Regulus chimed in, his dark hair falling into his eyes as he looked over at Fin and Sam. "How do you feel about being sorted? I mean, Ravenclaw and Slytherin? It's quite the combination."

Fin shrugged with a grin, a sparkle of mischief in her eyes. "I think it's pretty great. I mean, Slytherin is ambitious and cunning. We're basically the best at getting what we want, right?" She nudged Sam, who laughed.

"True, but Ravenclaw is all about wit and intelligence," Sam countered, leaning forward. "We're not just bookworms! We're the thinkers, the ones who solve problems creatively."

Lucius Malfoy, sitting nearby, leaned in, his expression thoughtful. "And what do you think of Gryffindor? They like to think they're the best because of bravery, but they can be reckless too."

"Right?" Fin agreed. "They act like they're the only ones who can be brave. I mean, sure, they save the day, but Slytherins are brave in our own way. We take risks that actually matter, like getting what we want."

"Exactly," Barty nodded. "It takes a different kind of courage to plan and execute a scheme rather than just running in headfirst. You two seem to get it."

"And Hufflepuff?" Emilia asked, her brown hair shimmering as she flipped it over her shoulder. "They're loyal and hard-working, which is admirable, but sometimes they seem... too passive, don't you think?"

"Maybe," Sam replied, her brow furrowing in thought. "But they are essential. Someone needs to keep things running smoothly, right? Not everyone can be a hero or a mastermind."

Pandora, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke up. "Hufflepuffs have a lot of heart. They can often see things from a different perspective. I think they bring balance to the houses, in a way."

"True," Regulus added, his tone contemplative. "Each house has its strengths and weaknesses. That's what makes Hogwarts what it is—a mixture of talents and personalities."

"Plus, it's nice to have someone who's willing to stand by you through thick and thin," Fin mused. "You're lucky to have friends like that in Slytherin." She exchanged glances with Andromeda and Narcissa, who nodded in agreement.

"Exactly!" Narcissa smiled, her blue eyes sparkling with pride. "We might have a reputation, but we also have loyalty within our own. It's not just about ambition; it's about family."

As the conversation continued, Sam couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. Sure, she was from Ravenclaw, but being here with Fin and the Slytherin group made her realize that these houses, despite their rivalries, shared a bond that went beyond mere house traits. They were united by their ambitions, their friendships, and their experiences at Hogwarts.

"So," Sam said, her voice light and playful, "who's ready to plan our next great adventure? We're in the past, after all! There's a whole world of history waiting for us to mess with."
