Ruchi ran out of the car as soon as he parked it.
Unlocking the apartment door, she ran to their bedroom. Samridh reached behind her but she was trying her best to avoid him.
She didn't look at him, she didn't acknowledge his presence. She was shuffling through her clothes trying to appear busy.
Something that Samridh has noticed about her. Whenever she is stressed and wants to avoid a conversation she either starts scrolling her phone that too just switching between the menus or starts doing random things that make her look busy.
"Ruchi" He held her elbow stopping her from flipping the clothes.
She didn't turn and he pulled her closer with her elbow, "I was worried when I didn't find you at the usual time. Your phone was switched off too. I was stressed and frustrated and that led me to shout at you. I am sorry for that" He whispered sincerely.
She turned towards him, her face sullen and eyes drooping low, "But I messaged you that I will be out "
His brows knitted in confusion. He hadn't received such a text from her, "But I didn't receive it" He voiced, his heart thumping what if she texted him and he without checking the message shouted at her? He would drown in shame and guilt.
Ruchi too looked at him in confusion. She took out her phone and jumped to his contact.
A gasp left her lips as she slapped her forehead.
The message was typed but not sent.
"I am sorry" She said showing him her phone. He looked at the message with the same expression.
"I am really sorry for worrying you, I should have also called when I saw my phone was going to be dead" She said in a small voice, he immediately wrapped his hands around her, "I know you didn't do it intentionally. I should have dealt with more patience. Trust me I didn't want to make you cry"
Ruchi snuggled into the bear hug, " It's okay. I am just a bit sensitive. Anytime someone raises their voice at me my eyes betray me. It's not your fault. I know you got worried"
He pulled her closer making up his mind to never yell at her. She was mature and hardly did anything that could cause anyone trouble. He promised himself to listen to her first and then react.
"I went shopping with my colleague, Shruti. She is going on a vacation so she just wanted to buy some dresses" She explained to him the matter and he hummed remembering her colleague as the one beside her.
He sniffed her hair. It calmed him down being close to her. Oh! He felt like home.
He didn't want to leave her and stay close to her. "Samridh ji", Ruchi tapped his shoulder to let her go.
She wanted to take a bath first, she was tired and the dripping sweat was making her irritated.
His hands moved all over her body finally resting on her shirt. The floral white shirt she wore was found on the floor the next minute. He was tracing her neck with sloppy kisses.
"Samridh ji, Shower " She whispered and he pulled her up in his arms muttering, "As you wish, Princess".
He moved to the Washroom with her in his arms.
The rest of the night they had their ways with each other. Tiring out the other.
The thought of completing his work was long forgotten all thanks to his little rabbit who was seducing him by just looking at him with her big eyes.
They had their dinner order from their new favorite restaurant. After savoring the taste, he lay his head down on her lap. She massaged his head lovingly making him snuggle more in her stomach.
He didn't feel like moving an inch away from her. He was feeling homesick so he stayed glued to her throughout the night. Remember? She is his home. The next morning he was determined to complete the task at hand. He wanted to spend the weekend with her and not on meeting the deadline. Even if he had to overwork, he would gladly but then all he wants is two peaceful days with his wife.
He started working on the task and soon the freshers joined him. They wanted to correct what they damaged. They had put significant effort into learning about the task themselves and then went to Samridh to let them do it under his guidance.
Samridh trusted them and guided them and by the end of the day, they were able to complete most of it.
He appreciated them, he was sure they would be able to complete it by the next day. And the thought alone relaxed him.
He went on to update about the progress along with his manager to the CEO that is Ruchi's father, Who was impressed by the development.
His eyes always shined when he looked at Samridh. Surely he was one the best in the team.
They wrapped up the meeting soon. Before Smaridh could step a foot outside, Ruchi's father stopped him, "Samridh, are you two free on the weekend? I was hoping maybe both could join us. I guess the project will be completed by tomorrow. "
And there went Samridh's plans for the weekend but he knew Ruchi would be elated to join them. And that is what is wanted to do anyway. He wanted to surprise her and make her happy. So a little change in the plan won't hurt.
He nodded at him politely, "Sure, Sir. I will confirm with Ruchi once"
"Oh, Man! You and your Sir" He rolled his eyes at Samridh. "Well, I will ask Ruchi too otherwise she will complain that I forgot her after her marriage" He chuckled very well imagining her complaining face.
"I was thinking of directly taking her here without informing exactly where we are going " Samridh looked here and there as if he wasn't the one who said this making him chuckle, "Ah! I get it. Sure Young Man, go and surprise her " He ruffled his hair making him shy.
He was happy for his daughter and son-in-law. They were growing and handling their marriage with care.
