Present Day:
Tears dropped down the corner of Ruhi's eyes, agony pulsed like an infected wound in her chest.
Memories after memories flooded her mind. All she could do was cry. She sat up, her eyes opening, as a sob tore through her lips.
Her heart burned with deep pain, soul shattering cries pierced the interiors of the temple.
All those years of ignorance now felt like a bleeding, gushing wound.
How could she forget her love? Her Kanha?
The thought of such cruelty tore her to pieces. Agony flamed her body, her body shook with sobs.
Radha and Rukmini's eyes burned with tears, they wrapped their arms around the sobbing girl, pulling her tight in their arms, as they too cried.
Their bodies thrumming with pain.
"Shhh don't cry Ruhi. For god's sake please don't cry. We cannot see you in any more pain." Radha begged, her voice thick with the submerged pain, that had finally surfaced.
Now that Ruhi remembered everything, she couldn't hold herself back.
She ran her fingers through the girl's hair, holding her close.
Ruhi's grip tightened on both, "How could I have done the sin of forgetting Arya? And forgetting you all? My family."
She swallowed another sob, slipping past her lips.
"It is not your fault." Rukmini assured, her voice thick with emotions.
"But-"
"No." The first wife of Krishna pulled back, looking down at the frail girl, shaking her head.
"No." She repeated more firmly.
Cupping her cheeks in her hands, Rukmini began.
"You will no more blame yourself. We cried enough. You, We and Arya. We all have suffered enough. This is now our happily ever after. No more tears Ruhi."
Her voice was calm as usual, soft and soothing. Rukmini was embodiment of selfless love and composure.
Her calmness soothed Ruhi's heart, she gazed at the two women ahead of her. She let the two hold her, calm the storm of emotions that raged in her heart.
Her story had been tragic back then, her past was a shattered mirror, she never was able to unite with Krishn, but in this lifetime she had.
Her hand moved to her mangalsutra, her grip tightening on it. Yes, they had united in this lifetime. After years and years of wait, they were one.
A watery smile curved on her lips, her heart lit with joy.
The happily ever after that she had promised him, and he had promised her, was now their reality.
The thought was overwhelming and scary, her heart thrummed in her chest, building and burning all her fears.
"You both look just as beautiful, not a day older." She whispered, her gaze tracing the features of her two older cowives.
