Chapter 23

"Oooooo! How about this?!" Kayla squealed excitedly holding up a really cute All Time Low halter top. It was pink with the world 'All Time Low' written across the front in a bright purple.

"I love it!" I cried snatching the shirt from Kayla and placing it on myself to get a visual.

"I'm going to try it on." I told the other two. I walked over to the change rooms and put the shirt on. I looked at myself in the mirror. It did look really good on my.

I turned around so I could see the back of the shirt in the mirror. I caught a glimpse of my tattoo on my very lower. It was the Japanese symbol for strength.

I got it when I was 14. Aiden had a fake ID then and he let me get it. I had really good reasons to get it.

When I was younger I dealt with my parents dying really well, and whenever someone was down I made an effort to make them happier. Plus I could kick anyone's ass. All good reason to get the tattoo.

Now this tattoo represented my ability to stay strong even after the love of my life said they never wanted to see me again. Me and Carter have fought more since we were going out then we did the rest of our life. Thats a sign, it has to be. Obviously we were not meant to be together. We were meant to be friends and thats all there is too it.

I walked out of the change room, the shirt in hand. Kayla and Chris running towards me with a bunch of clothes in hand.

"What took you so long?" Kayla asked pushing me towards to check out counter.

"I was just admiring my tattoo." I said with a smile. I had let go of Carter completely. We could be friends now and thats it.

"You have a tattoo?!" Chris asked doubtfully.

I nodded my head a pulled up the back of my shirt a little exposing the top half of the symbol. Chris just gaped at my lower back.

"Close your mouth your drooling." I joked as he starred at my butt.

"Sorry." He said embarrassed.

"So why do you guys have so many clothes in your hands?" I asked confused.

"It was fun picking out clothes for you." They shrugged. I just smiled and shook my head and Chris paid for all the clothes they had picked out.

"I guess we better go back to the hotel and get you ready for the concert." Kayla said taking my hand in hers and swinging them back and forth between us. I just giggled and walked too.

Chris was walking beside me awkwardly. I grabbed his hand and did the same thing that me and Kayla were doing. we were like a bunch of little kids.

The walk back to the hotel was silent, but a comfortable silence. It was a good thing that the walk was short because I was sick of walking.

"I'm going to tell the guys we are back, if they are even here!" Kayla said laughing as she walked past our door to the guys.

"So what songs are we singing tonight?" I asked curiously.

"Well all the songs on the 'What is love' Album.. and maybe just a few others." He replied after a moment of thought.

"Okay good. Those are the songs I'm good at singing." I laughed.

Just then Kayla came storming into the room. Her face was contorted in rage.

"Hes fucking cheatting on me!" She yelled. My mouth just hung in a 'O' shape.

"Yeah thats what my face looked like too." She fumed.

"Who with?!" I screamed.

"I don't have a fucking clue. Just some random chick. He said he wasn't 'satisfied enough'." Kayla yelled.

"You girls are just having a bad day aren't you?" Chris said sadly. Obviously he wasn't good with drama.

"unfortunately." Me and Kayla replied at the same time.

"I say we just forget about the guys and focus on the bands." I said giving Kayla a huge hug.

"Sounds good to me." Kayla said Finlay calming down.

[Skipping to when the concerts start]

"You ready?" Chris asked giving my hand a squeeze.

"Ready as I'm ever going to be." I replied nervously.

"Just remember If you get nervous just pretend you are singing to me Kayla and Aiden." Chris told me giving a reassuring smile.

"Well I think its time to go give the crowd what they want." I said laughing grabbing Chris' arm and pulling him to the stage entrance. He walked on stage first and began talking.

"Everyone ready for a good show?" He asked the crowd happily. As if it were planned the crowd shouted back "Yes!" All at the same time.

"Good! Todays show we have a guest singer. Shes a good friend of mine, Ms Tegon Hunter!" He yelled. The crowd clapped and I could hear Kayla yell "You Go Girl!".

Me and Chris danced around and sang to a bunch of his songs. It was so much fun! I felt so free and myself. It made me let go of all my feelings towards Carter.

"Thanks for coming out tonight guys! You really are the best fans ever! See you all at my next concert!" Chris yelled into the Mic as he walked off the stage with my close behind him. I gave a huge smile and blew a kiss to the crowd before walking off the stage.

"You were amazing!" Chris yelled picking me up and spinning me around.

"You weren't too bad yourself!" I laughed as he spun me.

"Oh My God Tegon you were great!" Aiden yelled coming and spinning me like Chris.

"Thanks! It was so much fun! I loved It!" I said hugging Aiden.

"Well I'm gonna go hang with the girlfriend now, seeing as it is her birthday. Text me if any of you need anything." Aiden told Me and Kayla as he walked off.

"Um that was really good you too." Carter said. I didn't even know he was here.

"Thanks. Can I speak to you alone?" I said quickly as I grabbed Carters arm and dragged him to a quiet spot for us to talk.

Once i finally found a quite spot to talk I took a deep and looked him straight in the eye.

"Carter I still do love you, more than I have ever loved anyone before. But I think we should just be friends. Well actually I think we should be best friends again." I told him all in one breath. I couldn't believe that I got enough courage to tell him all that.

"I still love you too, but your right we should just stay best friends." He replied with a smile. I opened my arms for a hug which he gladly gave me.

"I'm happy to have my best friend back. Can we just forget about everything that happened over the last few months?" I asked hopefully.

"I like having my best friend back too, and of course we can." Carter replied as he started walking back towards our group of friends. 

"You know Logan cheated and is still cheating on Kayla right?" I asked Carter when we were still out of ear shot.

"Well I knew he was meeting with 'a friend' a lot but I didn't know that was going on." Carter fumed. He was really protective of me and Kayla.

"Yeah. She found out today. They obviously broke up." I whispered as we were almost at the group. Carter just shook his head in disappointment.

As we walked over to Kayla and Chris I caught the end of the conversation.

"So you think she will say yes?" Was what Chris had asked. Kayla just nodded her head. I was a little worried.

"Um hi guys." I asked nervously, i seriously didn't know what to expect.

"Tegon I need to ask you a serious question." Chris said looking even more serious then he sounded. My stomach was in my throat.
