The next day i woke up to a text from mom, wanting to meet, i said okay. I finished getting ready and i called the driver to pick me up, as i was waiting my bell rang, i went to open it and it was Chan, i stood there is silence, "can we talk?"he spoke

"about what?"i acted stupid, "you know what Haneul"I sighed and let him in, "you don't have you explain yourself"i said, "yes i do, i don't want you to think that I didn't want to tell you because i was going to"he said, "okay"i said, he sighed

"you're upset and i understand but you know i had nothing to do about it"he said, "i told you you don't have to explain yourself"i said, "we both know how our parents can be don't worry about it"i smiled

"thank you for understanding Haneul"he smiled, i heard a honk outside, "my ride is here sorry talk to you later"i said, "okay"he said, i left and Chan stayed in the house, the driver took off. I arrived at a cafe and i noticed mom sitting down from outside

i got in the cafe and went to her, "hi"i spoke, she noticed me and stood up, "hey Haneul"she smiled, she gestured me to sit down, she already ordered what i like, i felt warm inside but sad, "how have you been?"she asked, "good i guess and you?"i said looking at her

"i don't know really"she said, "i heard from dad"i said, "sorry you had to go through that"i spoke, "no Haneul im sorry"she looked away since her eyes were teary

"i should've been a better mother for you"her tears rolled down her cheek, "mom.. don't say that you were the best mother anyone could ask for"i said, despite her controlling she was more like a friend than a mother

"you're so kind Haneul"she smiled, "you raised me"i smiled, she chuckled, "I'm sorry me and your father are separating you deserve a better family"she said, i reached for her hand and held it, "i couldn't ask for a better family do what best for you you'll always be my mom no matter what"i said

"forgive me sweetheart"she wiped her tears, "mom of course i forgive you it wasn't your fault I'm sorry you had to raise someone who isn't yours but im truly grateful for both of you, i love you"i said, she held my hand with both of her hands

"I'm happy i got to raise you Haneul don't be sorry after all it was never your fault i love you too"she smiled, "please keep contact with me and if you had children let me meet them"i said, "of course you're gonna be the best big sister ever"she said

i chuckled, "i have to go now, the court hearing starts in an hour"she said, i nodded, she stood up and kissed me on the forehead and left, i let my tears fall, i had been holding them since i sat, i don't think i will be able to accept the fact that my parents are getting a divorce, i feel guilty, i feel at fault

i left the cafe and let the driver take me home. I stepped inside the house noticing Chan's shoes, he is still here, "Haneul is that you?"i saw him get out of the kitchen, "you okay? did something happen? Have you been crying?"he asked

i just looked at him, wanting to hug him but i can't, he has someone now, i don't want to ruin it for him, "I've just met my mom for the last time"i said, i walked to the couch sitting down, "why? What happened?"he asked sitting next to me

"my parents are getting a divorce mom found out that she can have children but dad couldn't so she's leaving him, which is okay i guess but i don't know how to feel about it"i sighed, "I'm not ready for big changes"tears formed

"even if they're not my biological parents they're the ones who raised me and made me who i am"i wiped away the tear that fell, "but i gotta accept the truth and i still have dad"i said, i felt Chan wrap his arms around me, hugging me tightly

i broke into tears, i just cried in his embrace, he caressed my back, i pulled away wiping my tears, "feel better?"he asked, i nodded, he wiped away my tears and i looked at him, why do you keep making my heart flutter Lee Chan, "whatever happens i will be by your side"he smiles, i smiled back.
