Tooniverse Halloween: Relics of War

Jade Chan was sipping on some coffee as she took the elevator down to the new Section 13 headquarters. Several years after the defeat of Shendu and many other monstorous threats to humanity, the Organization has only gotten bigger thanks to the combined help of the Plumbers and Global Justice. And things were going to get a lot better now that Jade was an official agent

She hopped out of the elevator and brushed a black hair strand our of her face as the young woman came across a familiar face

"Coffee? snorts As if you need the extra energy...."

Jake Long stood beside her as she punched his shoulder

"Oh screw you, man! Tastes good and keeps me alert. Being an agent means you get attacked 24/7, dude."

Jake snorted at her response

"Not as glamorous as when you were a little twerp, huh?"

"Don't push it, Long! Besides you got any good substitute recommendations?"

"Something that'll get you to finally slow down. "

snorts

"Seriously, J?! You think I trained with the Plumbers and the Xiaolin for 8 years so I can slow down?"

Jake raised his hands up in defense

"Wowwww. And here I thought those years if trying actually gave you some samn humility!"

She playfully punched his shoulder as she walked with him

"So how're things with you and Rose?"

"Just moved in together. Things are finally moving up for the Amdrag!"

"Dammmn, alright alright! Good fir you man! Soon enough you'll be walking around with my godkid in no time flat!"

Jake almost choked on his smoothie at this sudden mention of him and Rose having a kid

"Scared I'm gonna ruin them?" Jade retorted as she chuckled

Jake wipes his mouth "Damn straight. Once you're involved, they'll be getting into danger and disobeying me by the time they're walking."

"What can I say? Nothing beats the Chan charm~"

Jake shook his head and leaned against a wall as he smiled

"Never change, Jade."

"Aye aye, Captain."

Said Jade as she made a faux salute

Jake laughed at her antics before changing his demeanor

So then....to the matter at hand. *Jake Saud as Jade raised her eyebrow at the change in tone*

"Oh boy. Lay it on me, Long."

Jake sighs

"Mystical artifacts are being stolen up all around the world."

"So? Jake....these kinds of things happen all the time."

"Yeah...but not simultaneously."

Jade crosses her arms and lets out a heavy sigh as she blew on her coffe and took another sip as she looked away for a brief moment before looking back at him

"How long has this been going on anyways?"

walks down some steps

"For the last few months, give or take."

He said as he noticed Jade frown at this news

"Do you at least know what KIND of artifacts are being taken, Jake?"

"You aren't going to like it."

".....try me."

Jade seemed to smirk at this declaration of hers while Jake's grim demeanor remained

"Talismans."

Jade froze upon hearing this. The artifacts she and the J-Team had tried so hard to secure from the forces of evil were finally at play all these years later

"What?! Which ones?!"

"That's the crazy thing: It's a new one!"

Jade held her hand and leaned against a wall as she took the information in

"But that's....impossible. Those things are God knows HOW OLD! How can anybody even replicate their power if the means have been lost to time?!

"Woah woah woah, ease up Chan. Makes sense why you'd  be on the edge. There are supposed to be twelve of those things...."

Jade sighed as she looked out at the Sector 5 base

"I don't think I have the manpower to deal with a threat that has THAT MUCH firepower."

"So how much would you hate me if I said it gets worse?"

Jade side glares at him as he pulls out a tablet

"The Tiger Claw Shen Gong Wu were used to tear  a portal over Tokyo, which sent out a Way Bad that got subdued by Ultraman. There have been a bunch of murmurs 9f something big going dkwn in the Hidden City. And most importantly...Cipher is gone."

Jade froze like a statue upon hearing the American Dragon

"Jake...do not tell me it's that Cipher."

Jake looks away and snorts out smoke while Jade tried to stop herself from passing out. How did the previous director even handle all of this stress.

"I'll send out a call."

"What?"

Jake followed after Jade as she stormed over to the main deck and started typing away

"Yo J slow down! This doesn't have to leave the Mystical side of things! If everybody know-"

"BILL CIPHER IS MISSING, JAKE!"

Jake and the rest of Sector 5 got quiet. Dead quiet. Jade looked around and huffed as she pushed back her loose strands of hair

"Alright people. Contact everybody you can reach. Plumbers, Wizards, Autobots....whoever you can reach! We're on high alert!"

Every single operative started running around and getting back to work

"And me?"

Jade chuckled weakly as she out a hand on Jake's shoulder before giving him a small smile

"Go home. Be woth your family. Stay on high alert. A d keep your comes up in case I or the Keague need you."

"Bu-"

"Jacob Long. I need you to do this for ne. Please."

Jade looked around before looking back at his old friend. Their parents practically raised them together before she moved away. He trusted her judgement more than anyone else. But if that was the case...why was her smile filling him with a karge amount of dread?

"You can count on me, J...
DRAGON UP!"

Jake is enveloped in blue flames as he spreads his dronic wings and flexes his scaly muscles

Don't get killed, sis.

Jade chuckled at his comment

Ditto. Now get out of here Long before  kick you out myself~

Jake chuckled as he walked to the center of the room and slumped down as the sun roof opened up. He then lifted off the ground at top speeds, sending papers and office supplies flying as he jetted out of the base. As the roof started to close, Jade's small smile started to turn into a solemn frown as the realization of what was to come dawned on her. And soon enough, the whole base was blanketed in shadow once again.

The Relic War Begins....
