I got home that day grinning. Sarah asked me where I had been rather suspiciously, but I just told her that I had walked around the park a bit. She seemed to believe me, so I went to my room. I practiced my guitar a bit. Norman really likes Taylor Swift, so I started trying to learn the song 'Lover'. I want to play him this. (No I will never stop making t swizzle references)

The next morning wasn't too eventful. I managed to avoid Sarah, and no one bothered me in my first few periods. At last, lunch came. I walked with Norman to our usual spot. Emma wasn't there, and Norman explained that she was home sick. We sat under the tree together, talking quietly. I put my arm around his shoulder and he smiled and kissed me.

Then, I heard a voice from the path in front of us, "Well look at that."

Keith. I looked up at him, "What do you want?"

"Calm down, just trying to make some conversation," he said, as though it wasn't extremely clear that he did not have good intentions.

"Keith, just leave us alone," Norman said. I was impressed with how steady his tone was.

Keith laughed, "Oh, you wanna protect your little boyfriend? Cmon, your both losers. Didn't know you were gay for each other, though." He sort of scoffed.

I stood, about ready to strangle him, but Norman tugged me back down, muttering, "Don't get expelled for him."

He looked disappointed that we weren't playing along,  but then sort of made a smug expression and walked off. Norman and I said, "Ugh," in synchronization, and then laughed.

(Timeskip to Ray's second period after lunch)

I was fidgeting with my pencil, half listening to my French teacher yapping on about verbs, when a voice over the announcements said, "Ray Grace, Norman Minerva, please report to the front office immediately."

The class erupted in "ooOooOoh"

My teacher said, "Ray," and nodded towards the door.

I stood and started walking. What the fuck? Why.... I walked faster.

In the hallway before the office, I found Norman, "Do you know what's happening?" I asked.

"No, I hoped you would."

He shook his head and we entered the office. Keith was there, smirking. Oh fuck what did he do? The principal, Mr. Thompson was also in the room, sitting in a large chair and glaring at us. He gestured for us to sit across from him. There were three chairs there,  and Keith was in the furthest one, so I took the middle to help Norman.

"So, care to explain your behavior towards Keith here recently? And generally? " Mr. Thompson asked in an extremely superior tone.

Norman and I glanced at eachother, dumbfounded, and Norman said, "...What are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb. Keith told me everything, and I'm very proud of him for reporting this behavior."

"We're not 'playing dumb' we're just confused. Please, could you explain what Keith has told you?" I asked, steadying my voice so I wouldn't start yelling at the principal.

Mr. Thompson looked pissed, but he responded, "You have injured him and his friends, as well as saying very upsetting things to them. And to add to the pile, you have been kissing on school grounds."

For a moment we just sat in stunned silence. Then, Norman said, "Mr. Thompson, we only ever hurt them in self-defense."

Keith put on a shocked face that was not very convincing, and Mr. Thompson sighed, "I don't want to hear it. This nice boy and his friends have no reason to hurt you. Anyways, why would never have told an adult that it had happened? Care to answer that?"

Because this would happen. I started, "Mr-"

He cut me off, "No excuses. You both understand that I'll have to call home and tell your parents everything that happened?"

"My parents are dead."

The principal was a bit startled for a moment, but just said,  "Or, um, your legal guardians , I suppose." He shifted in his seat uncomfortably.

Everything that- Oh SHIT. Sarah will find out I'm still seeing Norman, and she'll think Keith is in the right, oh fuck fuck fuckkkkkk. I tried to keep my expression clear and be polite, but instead I snapped, "If you're not even going to listen to us, can we just go back to class?"

Mr. Thompson now looked more pissed but slightly sympathetic, "Yes, but watch your tone, young man."

I sighed shakily and walked off, Norman close behind. Once we were in the hallway, I whispered to him, "I-I dunno whats going to happen with my aunt, so if she brings me to your house to say something or I text you anything, please don't believe me, okay?"

He nodded, quiet. Then he said, "My parents will believe me. I'll be, fine, so just let me worry about you."

I nodded back and held his hand.

Authors Note: So this took me forever to write for some reason. I kept getting distracted. I did hand-sew a moth plushie though, so I'm taking that as a win. Anyway, there are probably only going to be two or three more chapters of this, because I think it's getting too drawn-out. I'll keep writing NorRay, though. BYE BYE.
