[Later - Back at the Ship]
"Prince Zuko... I understand that your search for the Avatar is very important to you. But I am worried that all of this is too much, too soon. Your skin may nearly have healed, but there are other wounds that cannot be seen. And they need more time to mend. Right now you are a danger to yourself, your crew, Xia and everyone around you. I understand that this is not the life you wanted for yourself. But it is still your life. Please, Nephew. Do not throw it away." Iroh explains and Zuko stands up, getting angry.
"How can you sit there and say this stuff to me?! You're the DRAGON OF THE WEST! Your army was the first to break through the walls of Ba Sing Se! And you threw it all away for WHAT?! I was just a kid then, but I know what happened! The Earthbenders killed your son, Lu Ten, and you couldn't handle it. You just gave up and came home and hid in the palace like a cowardly old fool! You were supposed to be Fire Lord, but my father was stronger and my grandfather knew it. So they took that away from you, too, and you let them! You gave up on your duty AND your throne, so why should I listen to anything you say?! You keep telling me you want to help, but that's not true, is it? You don't want me to find the Avatar! You don't want me to get my honor back! You blew your own chances, and now you want me to be a failure too! WELL I'M NOT GIVING UP!" Zuko yells at Iroh. Iroh doesn't say another word. He gets up and leaves the room. He shuts the door and Zuko lays down.
[Later]
Xia sits on the railing of the ship, staring at the festival slowly coming to an end. She looks over and finds Hong Shen sitting beside her. He'd slipped on board like a true spirit. He left something for Zuko and then went to find Xia.
"Hello." Xia states.
"I hope you both find what you're looking for." Hong Shen states.
"I don't know what that is though." Xia responds.
"I think you know the answer, you're just not sure how he'll respond." Hong Shen replies.
"You were spot on. The fire nation has taken so much from me. He's not the same person he was when we were kids. He's had to grow up in the span of a few weeks." Xia whispers, "This new version of him, I still care for, but only because I know who he really is. And when he shows himself when he finally reveals that it is really himself that he's looking for, I'll be ready to take his hand as usual."
"Some call that love." Hong Shen responds, "And that's all he needs to help guide him. I left him a present to use when he feels he needs it." Xia nods and she holds out her hand for him.
"I'm going to make things better. This is my promise to you." Xia responds.
"Don't make promises you can't keep." Hong Shen says as he stands up ready to jump down off the ship.
"I can make promises. When I put my faith in who I am." Xia states and reveals who she is by bending the water out of the ship, and releasing some flames, "I'm the Savior. And I'm going to find a way to save the world."
"I look forward to showing Zhen the world you'll create, Savior." Hong Shen states before he disappears into the night.
'Weeks passed and Iroh acted like nothing had happened. But Zuko could feel that things were different. Iroh didn't offer any more advice and I had to step in to calm Zuko down more often. All that was spoken about was business, the ship, the crew, firebending practice. Zuko often told me that it might've been easier if Iroh had been angry with him. Especially when he'd smile at Zuko and leave Zuko speechless on what to say. Before I knew it, winter came.' Xia's thoughts explain.
