It's cloudy, the sky almost black and the air foggy. I notice it is cold outside, a fresh breeze against my skin. His hand is holding mine as we walk to the park, gravel paths leading us the way, rows of oak trees on the sides, left and right, divided equally and placed with symmetry. We enter the flower garden, orchids and peonies arranged in to flowerbeds, the colors all vibrant, too bad the sun doesn't glow upon them right now. I look up at the sky, a raindrop hits my face and rolls down.
"It's very pretty here.", Joseph comments and I nod in agreement. "It is, that is why I like to come here.", we share a smile and walk down the path in front of us untill we reach an even quieter spot, a bench underneath big trees, their leaves sheltering us from the rain that has gotten heavier in the meantime.
I lay my head on his shoulder, resting and casting my eyes to take in nature's beauty. "I miss nature a lot, I wish I could just run wild into fields of grass, just with you, the two of us to enjoy life without worries.", I tell him before closing my eyes to focus on the raindrops, the birds singing their songs and the brushing of leaves against eaachother caused by the wind.
"Then why can't we?", he follows and I think about his statement.
Yes, why can't we?
"Because I don't know if such nature still exists, I think it will always have an influence of the human kind, paths to lead, produce planted on these fields or cabels to deliver the small town their energy."
"I do know a place exactly as you described, I used to always flee there with friends to hang out and smoke and talk about life, to get away from my wrecked home.", he whispers this vulnerable information in my ear, his voice sweet but deep as always.
"Can you take me there once?", I rest my left hand on his right and give it a little squize before aligning my fingers in between his to hold hands.
"I sure can, but I'll take my friends too if you don't mind, it is not very close to here and it is best we stay at his place for a night.", I listen closely as we are starting to plan our trip. "He wouldn't mind, he is sweet, he wouldn't even hurt a spider.".
I kiss him to show him I love him once again, to show him my validation for him and my respect for him because he always makes me feel so safe.
The rain gets heavier and we decide to walk home, change into something more comfortable before getting the van ready for tonight. As we walk out the park the trees can't bring us shelter no more so we quickly get drenched by the rain. We can barely see the way in front of us and it turns to hail, he runs of quickly, our home not being too far of. I try catching my breath and can barely keep up with him yet he never once lets go of my hand untill we are safely home.
"That was one hell of a walk home.", I giggle as we use towels to dry our skin and hair, both just in our underwear with our clothes, wet, hanging over the staircase railing to dry. I pick up my phone, the small screen lighting up before clicking the weather app to see what to wear for the rest of the day. I manage to catch a glimpse of the time in the process.
5pm.
The weather isn't looking too promising with just a bunch of rain to come yet warm temperatures making it unbelievably hard to pick a fitting outfit.
"What do you think of this?", Joseph asks, holding up a pair of jeans shorts and a dark green sweather. I take a good look.
"Cute but I am worried the sweather will get too warm."
He dives back into his clothes as I start digging through the piles of shirts in my closet. Having a rich boyfriend doesn't help with learning how to budget since he doesnt give me a budget whenever we go shopping. I have yet to find out how he got this rich because it has always been like this, even before he blew up on spotify.
