third person pov.

After their session last night, Lisa asked Jennie to hold her, which made Jennie feel better, more like herself. She did, and that's how they fell asleep. Jennie was so physically and emotionally exhausted, she slept through her alarm and later than she had in a very long time. When Lisa woke and realized she had beat the early bird, she decided to go downstairs. She knew if she woke Jennie up there was going to be trouble. Again. Lisa found herself in the office/library. She looked around to see if Jennie had any books that would interest her. There were a lot of health and wellness books, books about spiritual growth and meditation, and even a few sci-fi fantasy books.

Lisa wasn't too keen on any of those topics, though. Then something colorful caught her eye. She kneeled down at the corner of the bookshelf and found a stack of coloring books and word searches. They were brand new.

"Did she get these for me?" Lisa said aloud to herself as she flipped the pages.

"She did," Jennie answered sleepily from the doorway. She had been watching Lisa for a while. Not to be a creeper, but she was just curious as to what she was doing.

The sound of Jennie's voice shocked Lisa. She turned around and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I wasn't snooping. Promise. I just didn't wanna wake you again." Her voice suddenly became very small and whiny. Why did Jennie have that effect on her?

"It's okay, love," Jennie said. She walked over to the desk and opened the drawer. There were sets of markers, crayons, and colored pencils inside. She took them out and handed them to Lisa. "They're yours."

Lisa smiled and took the art supplies from Jennie's hands. She was happy. She secretly liked coloring. Any time her sister was in town, Lisa would color with her nephew. She enjoyed it more than him sometimes. "Thank you, Daddy."

"You're welcome," Jennie said happily.

Admittedly, last night had left her in a rut, even this morning. She told herself it was silly, but she felt like maybe Lisa would have difficulties submitting to her or going into little space after what happened the prior night. "Are you hungry, Lili?" Jennie asked.

Lisa didn't hear her. She was too preoccupied finding the perfect coloring page. There were pictures of flowers and jungles. So many different animals to choose from. She flipped the pages and whimsically kicked her feet as she laid on her belly.

"Lili" Jennie repeated. "Look at me."

"Daddy, I'm doing something," she fussed in her baby voice.

Jennie chuckled and stooped down. She gently grabbed Lisa's chin and tilted her head up. "When I ask you to do something, little one, do it. Okay?" Jennie kept her voice firm, but she knew she was rendered powerless under the gaze of those big brown eyes.

"Okayyy, Daddy. Sheesh," Lisa giggled.

Jennie smiled. Lili was too cute. "Now, are you hungry?"

Lisa nodded dramatically. "Yes!"

"Okay, love. Grab your things and you can color at the table while I make your breakfast."

Lisa got up and tried to pick up all of her coloring books and art supplies, but it was too much. "Daddy, I got too much stuffs. Help me!" she whined. The slippery books were sliding out of her hands and would be a mess on the floor soon.

Jennie laughed. "Baby, you don't need all of them." She took a majority of the books from Lisa's hands and sat them on the desk. "Pick one."

Lisa frowned. "One??" She asked in disbelief. How was she supposed to only pick one? They all had such pretty pictures. Lili looked up at Jennie with her clear brown eyes and blinked a few times.

Jennie thought about Lisa being little with anyone else and the hairs on the back of her neck stood at attention. She bit the inside of her lip and swallowed her jealousy. "Yes, baby."

Lisa looked through the stack of books. She huffed and puffed. She wanted to take all of them. "But Daddy!" Lisa scrunched up her nose and crinkled her brow.

Jennie was trying to be patient, but she didn't tolerate defiance. "Lisa, I'll only say it one more time. Pick one, then it's time to start breakfast."

Lisa heard the subtle change in Jennie's voice and decided she better get a move on if she didn't want to get in trouble. "Okay." She picked the coloring book with the flowers. "This one."

"Good girl. Let's go." Jennie turned to walk out of the library, but she didn't hear Lisa following her. She looked over her shoulder to see Lisa standing there with her hand held out. "What's wrong, love?"

"Your hand, Daddy. I wanna hold it." Lisa said with her coloring book, markers, pencils, and crayons held to her chest. She didn't feel silly or embarrassed as she had the first time she entered little space. She felt safe with Jennie. She allowed herself to feel as small as she wanted to without fear of judgment. Plus, it made Jennie happy.

Jennie smiled and went back to grab Lisa's hand. "Okay, baby." She led her out of the office and towards the kitchen. Jennie felt good that Lisa felt comfortable enough with her to be small and vulnerable. "What does my girl want for breakfast?" she asked.

"Chocolate pudding!" Lisa shouted.

Jennie laughed. "Not happening."

"Cake!"

"Try again." Jennie tried to hide the ever-growing smile that was emerging, but she couldn't. Lisa wasn't giving up her fight for a sweet treat breakfast. "Umm...." She thought long and hard. "Ice cream?"

Jennie pulled Lisa's chair out and motioned for her to sit. Lisa laid out her art arsenal and sat down. Her blonde hair was a bird's nest. After their session, she took her hair down from the ponytail and let it fall free. However, through the night, it became a tangled mess. She didn't care. She was used to her blonde locks doing whatever they pleased in the morning. Jennie didn't care either. It only made Lisa cuter in her eyes.

"Would the little girl settle for cereal?" Jennie asked.

Lisa looked up from her coloring book. She suspiciously squinted her eyes at Jennie. "You only have gross cereal, Daddy." Lisa had seen her idea of cereal. It was gross and healthy with absolutely no sugar.

"Is that right?" Jennie asked.

Lisa nodded. "Yup."

"Oh." Jennie strolled over to her cabinet and pulled out a box of Lisa's favorite cereal. "So I guess I'll just throw this away. Shame. I thought a certain little girl would like them, but I guess I was wrong."

Lisa hopped up from her seat and rushed over to Jennie to grab the box of sugary cereal. Jennie held it just out of reach. "No, Daddy!"

"Are you sure? Because I don't want to make my little girl eat gross cereal," Jennie teased.

"I'm sure! Gimme! Gimme!" She wrapped her arms around Jennie and squeezed. "Pleeeaaassseee."

Jennie laughed and kissed Lisa on her forehead. "Okay. Okay. Go sit. I'll make it."

"I want a big bowl," Lisa said as she held her arms out to express the size of the bowl she wanted. It was an obnoxious, dramatic size that wasn't happening, and she knew it.

Jennie playfully smacked her bottom. "Uh huh. Go. You're like a sugar addict. We're going to kick that nasty little habit."

Lisa giggled and skipped back to the table to color and wait for her cereal. She looked over at Jennie and stuck her tongue out tauntingly.

Jennie chuckled. "Keep it up."
