Diana Henderson had lived several lives in less than a year. She had started off her junior year of high school as a less than popular and otherwise average student.
She was a typical teenager, hanging out with her friends, Nancy and Barbara, at Benny's after school on Fridays. She loved photography and going out with Jonathan to take pictures in the woods on the weekends.
But most of all, she loved her family. Her father had died a few months after her little brother, Dustin, was born and ever since then her mom had been overly protective of both of her children.
She loved staying at home with her mom and watching some sappy romance movies or sitting down and watching cartoons with Dustin.
Everything changed when her brothers friend went missing. Her mom had insisted she stay home or keep an eye on her brother
Diana was always a rule follower so she did just that. And that led her to the biggest adventure of her life.
Along with Jonathan, she captured the very rare picture of a demogorgon, along with Barbs last moments alive.
It had haunted Diana that she had unknowingly witnessed something that she could have changed the outcome to.
She had skipped Steve's hangout because Jonathan was in so much distress that it pained Diana.
And when they had to fight the Demogorgon at the Byers house, she nearly sacrificed Steve, nearly did something so horrific because she was so absorbed in her grief.
Time went on. Will came home.
But Diana had to pretend everything was normal. Not that one of her best friends was dead, not that a little girl her brother knew had sacrificed herself.
And especially not the fact that it had awakened old feelings for her friend's boyfriend.
Starting senior year, it was coming up on a year since the "incident" happened.
Diana doesn't know if she will sink or float, but she will always try her hardest.
Because she knows that there are things at stake.
And she's not willing to risk anything.
