'Sorry, my mistake,' said the bodyguard, straightening himself up. 'Ithought I saw the boy acting suspiciously.'

'It wouldn't be the first time,' said Melanie.

'I was just standing here,' argued Ian. 'She's the one who brought thedangerous automobile with the lunatic driver.' He pointed at Friday.

'I wasn't the one driving,' said Friday.

'No, but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?' said Ian.

A/N: Funny when you put it in context of you and your dad, Ian!

'Hello Friday,' said Ian. 'Fancy meeting you here, on your hands andknees, trying to break in. What a surprise.'

'Is this some miscreant?' the princess asked Ian. 'Should we inform thepolice officers?'

'The police are already aware of her movements,' said Ian, shaking hishead sadly. 'Hers is more of a mental health issue rather than an actualcrime.'

'Ah,' said the princess, 'I understand. She is, how you say ... bonkers?'

 'Quite right,' agreed Ian.

'Nice girl,' said Binky, happily.

'Do you think so?' asked Ian.

Ian Wainscott and the rest of the polo teamtrotted out onto the field.'In trouble again, Barnes?' asked Ian.

A/N: Why is it whenever I read Ian acting like this I picture him strutting like a chicken

A/N: Ok this scene speak's for it's self.

As Friday pushed open the door and flicked on the light she got a nastyshock. There was someone sitting on her bed.It was Ian.

'What are you doing here?' said Friday.

'Waiting for you,' said Ian.

'Why did you break in?' asked Friday.

'I wasn't going to wait outside,' said Ian. 'Someone might see me.That's how rumours start.'

'But everyone knows about you and Friday,' said Melanie.

'Only in your mind, Melanie,' said Ian.

'No, my mother and father –' Ian swallowed and glanced at his feet '–are divorcing.'

'I'm sorry,' said Friday.

'Well, you should be,' snapped Ian, 'since you were the cause of it'

'Of course we'll help you, and your mother,' said Friday. 'I am capableof human empathy.'

'You are?' asked Ian,

'Even with someone as undeserving as you,' said Friday.

A/N: Ok rereading this now I'm starting to think I should do Friday's best lines.

'Is that what you call this colour?' asked Friday. 'I would've said blue.'

'No, green,' said Ian, looking over her shoulder. A/N: I see you Ian
