"Can I have a coffee?" came the pleading voice of a six-year-old girl.
"No. It'll stunt your growth," snapped the woman, who was clearly the exasperated babysitter. As Bonita went about getting the woman's espresso ready, she heard the little girl let out a humph.
"You don't want to be a shorty your whole life. You'll thank me someday," continued the woman.
"Are you wanting to be a shorty then?" asked the little girl as Bonita — who was currently back to the situation — couldn't help but chuckle.
"I've stopped growing at my age," said the woman with an edge of irritation in her voice. "Besides, you shouldn't talk back to adults."
Bonita turned to give the woman her coffee, watching as she moved to grab the little girl's hand with her free hand and walk out of the shop. Bonita began to wonder if Minho was feeling this way when it came to Bang Chan. She wondered if he thought what he was doing was a glorified babysitting service. Then again, he had been the one that insisted on not having him around her. Bonita was dragged out of such worries as another customer entered the shop.
"Well long time no see!" said the man in a jovial voice. "I didn't know you worked here."
Bonita chuckled as Felix smiled and walked over to the counter to stand in front of her.
"What brings you here?" asked Bonita.
"Um...coffee?" he said with a chuckle. "I heard it's the best on this side of town."
It wasn't like he had complimented her, but Bonita felt herself blush all the same. Grabbing an order pad, she waited as Felix evaluated his choices. Before he could place an order though, her cell phone rang. Sighing, she put the order pad down and dug out her phone to see that it was Minho.
'I wonder what he could want,' thought Bonita, moving off to the side for a moment to answer.
"Look...before you freak out...I'm fine..."
"You're fine? What about you-know-who? What's going on?" asked Bonita, alarmed. Somewhere in the background she could hear sirens and a drunken man's crying.
"Look...I can't explain now. I'm on my way to the hospital. Can you come?"
"I'll try to be there soon," said Bonita as she hung up once Minho told her which hospital.
"Is something wrong?" asked Felix as turned from the menu board to watch Bonita hurriedly take off her apron, but fumble at doing so due to her shaky hands.
"I don't know. I need to get to the hospital to find out what is going on..."
"I'll go with you," said Felix. "In fact, let me call us a cab."
"You...you don't have to go with me..."
"I want to make sure you get there safely," said Felix, watching as a tear or two slipped free of Bonita's eyes as she resorted to nodding. Nodding himself, Felix dug out his own phone to call for a cab to take them to the nearby hospital.

Minho sat in the waiting room with his cell phone grasped in his hands. Seated beside him was the yet-to-sober up man that Bang Chan had rescued from falling to his death. The man had a plastic cup of water in his hands, but wasn't drinking it. He was instead sloshing it all over since he couldn't stop crying.
"Aisshhh! Just drink it or put it down already!" snapped Minho as he put his cell phone down to take the cup out of the man's hands and set it aside.
"It's my fault...again it's my fault..."
