Clarke's Pov:
Drawing was the only thing keeping me grounded. Picturing everything about Earth that my parents and I would talk about kept me grounded. I was in the middle of drawing on the floor in my cell when my cell door flew open.
Guards.
Before I knew it, I was pressed to the wall, and they cuffed my hands. I'm sure I was shouting and flailing my arms, but it all became a blur once they led me out of my cell. That's when I saw my mother.
"Mom, what's going on? I still have time before my birthday," I said, trying to hide the panic that was starting to overwhelm me.
She cupped my face, her eyes glassy. "You're going to Earth, Clarke."
I was too stunned to speak.
Then, the guards started to usher me away from my mother. My only family.

I was strapped in on the dropship. Next to a murderer. Wells, my childhood best friend. Or at least he was until he became the reason my father was floated. I couldn't even hold back the disgust that was splayed on my face.
"Clarke -" he began.
"Save your breath, Wells," I said. Why is he here? Couldn't I die in peace? Because this was most definitely a suicide mission.
A guard ran onto the dropship. He was tall and had way too much gel in his hair. And there was.. blood on his hands. He looked around frantically, as if looking for someone.
Soon, he settled next to a pretty girl with dark hair.
Crash!
We were moving. I braced myself. This couldn't be worse than rotting in my cell for another month.
The dropship was hurling towards the Earth. And some idiot left his seat. He started to float towards me.
"Hey, Princess," he said flirtatiously. He was cute, I'd give him that.
But he was still being reckless. "You need to get back into your seat. You could get severely injured once we have regular gravity," I said, even though I knew I'd sound like a know-it-all.
Two other people followed suit and unbuckled. "Please, everyone needs to stay in your seats!" I practically pleaded. Snickers came from all around me. Of course. I try to keep people alive, and I sound like a priss to everyone.
"Fine, go die all you want.." I muttered.
"Finn," the floating boy says before extending his hand towards me.
I rolled my eyes before shaking his hand firmly. "Clarke."
Suddenly, the dropship starts to rattle like crazy. The two boys are flung against the metal walls of the dropship. Finn slams into the seats in front of me.
The boys were bleeding excessively, and I could tell they had stopped breathing. I was horrified. We haven't even gotten to Earth, and two people were dead.
I looked at Finn. Anger pulsed through me, and I couldn't help but say, "Their deaths are on you."
I knew as soon as I said it it was a mistake. His face dropped, and pain shadowed over him.
The dropship was still shaking violently while we were going through re-entry. Many people got hurt.
"Clarke, I got arrested for you. I had to come down with you to protect you! Please, I can't die thinking you hate me!" Wells cried. I almost forgot he was sitting next to me. Almost.
And when he said that, I lost it. Tears started to stream down my face as I shouted, "I do hate you, Wells! You killed my dad!"
His face was overcome with grief and pain. Wells deserved to feel pain after what he did.
Then will an aggressive crash we landed.
I unstrapped myself as fast as possible. I had to get away from him. A crowd started to form at the door of the dropship.
A deep voice shouted to the crowd, "Back up! My little sister is going to be the first person back on Earth." The voice came from the guard. He had a sister? Siblings weren't allowed on the Ark.
"Don't open the door! The air could be toxic!" I shouted back as I pushed my way through the crowd.
He smirked. It was the smirk of an arrogant person. "If the air is toxic, we'll die anyway," he said smugly. His whole demeanor made me want to punch him.
The door opened. His sister, the gorgeous dark-haired girl, walked down cautiously. She looked bewildered. Then she turned around and yelled, "We're back, bitches!"
Everyone started to run out of the dropship, trying to get their feet into the soil as soon as possible.
I could explore Earth's wonders later. For now, we needed to locate Mount Weather. I took out my map to start planning our little hike. Then, fear and frustration flooded me.
We were on the wrong mountain."Everyone listen up! We need to get to Mount Weather. It holds all the supplies we need to survive. They dropped us off on the wrong mountain, and we need to leave now if we want to make it back before camp," I announced to everyone.
The smug guard, whose name I've learned to be, was Bellamy, walked up. "We don't all need to go. Let the privileged do the work for once!" He shouted to the criminals. "We'll sit back and do whatever the hell we want!"
This caught their attention. The crowd started cheering and chanting, "Whatever the hell we want."
I rolled my eyes and stated, "I can't carry enough supplies for 100 people by myself."
"Figure it out, Princess," he said with a stupid smirk on his face. Then Bellamy walked away.
I managed to gather a small group of people. Octavia, the asshole's sister; Jasper, nerdy kid with goggles; Monty, Jasper's best friend; Finn, and unfortunately Wells. I needed all the help I could get, so I didn't oppose him joining us. We set off into the woods after Bellamy threatened each one of us if Octavia didn't return to the dropship safely.
It was a long walk. I mostly talked to Finn. He was funny, cute, and interested in me . How could I not? On the Ark, I didn't really get to talk to boys.
Eventually, we reached water. It was the prettiest thing I have ever seen. I tried my hardest to memorize every single detail. I had to draw this when we got back to camp. Everyone else was clearly fascinated as well. Unfortunately, the lake was far down, so we wouldn't be able to just swim across. Finn and Jasper were already trying to cross. They found a vine, and before I knew it, Jasper was across. We were all cheering. We couldn't help it.
Terror filled every fiber of my being because Jasper laid there. Speared. Someone, an actual person, dragged him away.
There were others here.
We had to go warn the camp. We ran back as fast as we could.
A/N: I'm sorry that there isn't much Bellarke, but I want this to be well written. And besides them being enemies first is way more fun. 😌
