(Next day in college)

Heeseung is having his breakfast in the cafeteria when jake spots him and approaches him.

"Hie" jake said with a smile.

"Hey" he replies with a nervous smile.

Jake moves closer to him, a curious look on his face. "You seem a bit off today. Is everything okay?" he asked with a concern.

"Yeah, everything's fine" he lied, avoiding eye contact.

Jake raised an eyebrow. "You sure? You seem kinda tense."

Heeseung had planned to ignore Jake but as soon as he saw him he couldn't bring himself to do it. His heart softened at the sight of Jake, and he decided to risk talking to him anyway.

He sighed. "Yeah, okay fine. I'm not fine. But I can't tell you why. Not right now, at least."

Jake looked at him with a mix of concern and confusion on his face.

"What do you mean you can't tell me? What's going on?"

Heeseung ran his hand through his hair, trying to think of how to explain without revealing too much.

"It's complicated," he said finally. "It's something to do with my dad. He's been giving me a hard time lately."

"Your dad? But what's the matter? What's he been doing to you?"

Heeseung couldn't meet Jake's gaze. "It's nothing major. He just... he doesn't like that we've been hanging out a lot."

Jake's expression fell as the realization hit him. "Wait, does this mean you can't hang out with me anymore?" he asked, his eyes shows a hint of sadness.

Heeseung's heart ached at the sight of Jake's disappointment, he didn't want to lose jake, but he didn't want to put him in trouble either. "I don't know," he admitted. "He threatened to do something if I keep hanging out with you."

Jake looks at him with disbelief, how can his father do that with him.

"Yeah," he continued, "he thinks you're distracting me from my studies and my future."

Heeseung mentally cursed himself for the lie, knowing it wasn't the whole truth.

Jake looked at Heeseung with sadness, he nods his head. "It's okay, i get it. If your dad doesn't want us hanging out together, we won't."

He smiled weakly. "I'm sorry for bothering you and distracting you from your studies. You're the smart one, you should be focusing on your studies."

Heeseung could hear the disappointment in his voice, and he felt guilt.

"No, wait," he said quickly. "It's not your fault. You're not distracting me, I swear. It's just... it's just my dad being a pain in the ass."

Jake shrugged, trying to brush it off. "I get it, parents can be tough sometimes," he said, forcing a smile. "Just focus on your studies, i don't want to get you in trouble with your dad."

"No, it's not like that-"

"Don't worry about it," he said, standing up from his seat. "I have a class."

Jake grabbed his tray and walked away, leaving heeseung feeling more conflicted than ever.

Heeseung is sitting in the cafeteria, lost in anxious thought. Suddenly, sunghoon joins him and breaks the silence. "Hey, bug" he says, sitting down next to Heeseung. "I saw you talking with Jake earlier. What did you tell him?"

Heeseung looks up "It's complicated" he sighed.

"Maybe you should've tell him the real reason. I'm sure he will understand." sunghoon suggests.

"I can't, sunghoon. It's not easy, if i tell him that, he might feel bad about it."

"But he's still feeling bad with the fake reason though, it sucks that you can't even talk to jake now. And it sucks even more that he's feeling bad because of it."

"I know, it sucks, I wanted to tell him the real reason, but I'm scared. I don't know how he will react."

"You? You scared? When did you start getting scared" he teased.

Heeseung gave him a death glare and get up to leave, but sunghoon caught hold of his pant and pushed him back to his seat.

"What the fuck are you doing?" he cussed.

"Listen! You can still talk with jake, i have an idea." sunghoon said with a smirk.

Heeseung looked at Sunghoon with interest. "What is it?" he asked, leaning forward slightly.

"So.. my cousin sister just had a breakup and she's feeling lonely and sad."

"So? What do i do?" his eyes narrowing.

"I want you to be her friend. She needs a friend to keep her company and comfort her."

"Are you serious?" heeseung asked, he raised an eyebrow.

"No i'm joking and wasting both of our time here, obviously i'm dead serious." he sighed.

"Think about it, your dad will think you're dating a girl now, and you'll be spending time with her instead of jake. So he'll be satisfied, and then you can start talking with jake.

"But we're not actually dating, right?"

"Exactly..just pretend you are, and your dad will be satisfied that you're interested in girls now, not guys."

Heeseung looks at sunghoon, his expression troubled.
"And what about Jake? He'll think that I'm dating a girl and ignoring him, cause i literally told him that i need to focus on my studies now. That will hurt him."

"And here's the best part. If you spend time with my cousin in front of Jake, he might get jealous and reveal his feelings for you."

"You think so? That Jake might get jealous and show his feelings for me?" heeseung asked.

"Yess, if he saw you with another girl, he might get jealous. What if he likes you back?"

"Really? And who told you that i like him."

Sunghoon chuckled. "Don't try to be smart with me, i can clearly see it."

Heeseung snorts with a smile and puts his head down on the table.

"and when will you talk to your sister about this?" heeseung asked, while his head on the table.

Sunghoon pats him on the back. "Don't worry about it. I'll talk to my cousin sister today and explain everything."

Heeseung nods, he agreed with this but he still thinking about Jake. "Alright, I just hope this doesn't backfire on me."

"Everything's gonna work out. And if it doesn't, I'll buy you a whole pizza."

Heeseung laughs at his reply. "You think pizza can make up for my broken heart if this plan doesn't work out?"

Sunghoon chuckles. "Pizza can make anything better, it's a win-win for you. Either you get pizza, or you get your jake."

They have a class so they walked out of the caferia. As heeseung walked past Jake's class, he could see him through the windows, he is sitting at his desk, focused on the his notes.

Heeseung wanted to go inside and talk to him, but he just stood there, watching jake from afar.

Jake looked up and saw heeseung, their eyes meeting for a moment. Jake smiled faintly, but then quickly continue to focus on his notes.

Heeseung felt like he was drowning in a sea of conflicting emotions, his eyes showed guilt, sadness and frustration.

Heeseung and Sunghoon head back to their class, heeseung can't help but feel a mix of anticipation and anxiety about what's to come.

"I hope everything goes well and I can spend time with Jake again."
