As Heeseung made his way through the college library, he saw Jake reading alone at a table. He approached him quietly, not disturb the studious atmosphere. He leaned in close to Jake and whispered, " Hey, Jake??"
Jake looked up from his book, his eyes slightly widened as he suddenly saw heeseung behind him.
"What are you up to?" Heeseung asked in a low voice.
"Can't you see I'm busy reading?" he replied, holding up his book to emphasize his point.
Heeseung smirk a little as he took a glimpse of the book title Jake is reading. "Romantic novel, huh?"
Jake quickly closed the book, hiding the cover from Heeseung's view.
Heeseung chuckled softly, his smile widening. "You know, I was thinking...we haven't hung out together in a while. Wanna do something today? Go for a walk or something?"
Jake shifted in his seat. "Actually, I can't today, i have to take Layla to the vet. Maybe some other time."
Heeseung's smile faded as he really want to spend some time with him. "Oh, that's too bad," he said, trying to hide his disappointment. "Is something wrong with her?"
"She's been sick for a few days," he explained. "So I've to take her in today.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, i hope she's okay." He paused for a moment, an idea forming in his mind. "If you don't mind, I could come with you."
Jake looked up at him. "No, no, it's okay. you don't have to come. I have some other plans after the vet too."
Heeseung's heart sank at Jake's rejection. "Oh, okay." he said, trying to hide his disappointment.
Jake picked up his book. "I should get going, I don't want to keep Layla waiting." he said standing up, slightly smiling.
Heeseung nodded, reluctantly accepting his decision. "Take care then, see you later." he replied, standing up straight.
Heeseung watched as Jake walked away, a mixture of confusion and hurt in his expression. He couldn't understand why Jake was acting so distant and avoidant towards him.
The night was chill, as a light drizzle began to fall. Heeseung, feeling sadness and hopelessness, enters a bar.
As he enters the bar, the interior was illuminated by red and blue light that flickered on the walls. The music was loud making it difficult to hear anything else.
Everywhere he looked, there are groups of friends were having fun, laughing and dancing, but he stood there, alone and feeling the weight of sadness heavy in his heart.
He took a sip of whiskey, taking a seat on one of the stools. He feel the burn of the alcohol slide down his throat.
He couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness, as he gulped down the another glass of alcohol.
Heeseung had been sitting at the bar for a while, gulping alcohol glass after glass. As he gulped down the sixth glass, he could feel a strong wave of dizziness wash over him.
His vision started to blur and his body felt heavy. He tried to stand up but his legs were unstable.
He stumbled, losing his balance, and was about to fall on the floor but then suddenly, he felt a hand grip his arm, letting his head rest on his lap.
He looked up, his vision still fuzzy, to see a blurry figure holding him. "W-who's there...?" he mumbled, trying to focus his eyes.
Heeseung heard a voice respond to him, "Hee, are you okay?" The tone was calm and concerned.
Heeseung tried to speak, but his tongue felt heavy and his head was spinning. He tried to focus on the figure holding him.
But before he could say anything he passed out.
