                                                                                  Joel's POV

The next morning you woke up to the sunlight shining through the window. You squinted to see outside as the brightness carried in. The storm was passed, and the snow was melting on the side of the window. That was a good sign. It meant the weather was about to get better. Maybe you could get out of the cabin in a day or two. You'd go out and inspect later on.

You looked to your left, and Aly was still holding your hand while her left arm was hooked around yours, her face resting against your bicep. She was sleeping peacefully as her breathing was slow and calm. You took in every inch of her face as she rested against you. Her eyelashes thick and long, her skin like porcelain. And her lips...they looked so inviting. You wondered what they'd feel like with your lips pressed against hers. Wondered what she tasted like...You fought every urge in you not to graze your lips against hers. Needing to stop the desire running through you. Control yourself.

You laid there in bed, not wanting to wake Aly. Not when she looked this peaceful. You'd wait just a little longer. You enjoyed watching her sleep. She slept so soundlessly when you were near her. That's one thing you noticed. You wouldn't lie. You slept better with her in your arms too. You didn't want to admit that. That was dangerous. Addictive. What would happen if she wasn't here anymore? You pushed those thoughts away immediately before it ruined your mood.

About a half hour later she started waking up as she moved against your arm, a small yawn leaving her mouth before she fully woke up. She opened her eyes slowly and looked up at you. Her dark blue eyes staring up into yours. Those beautiful diamond eyes. You swear you never saw anything quite as captivating as those eyes looking up into yours. What a sight to wake up to. You could get used to that...

"Morning," she said sleepily with a smile spreading across her face.

"Mornin'. You sleep good?" you asked looking down into her face.

"Couldn't have slept better," she smiled as she unhooked her hand from yours and placed it against your arm, hugging it like it was her supply of warmth. You smiled as you watched her get comfortable again, bringing her head closer against you. You slowly ran a hand through her thick waves, showing affection in the ways that you could without getting too close.

"You know we should probably get up right?" you said with a small laugh.

She groaned at the statement. "Do we have to?" she sighed as she looked up at you.

"Well, I need to shower and aren't you hungry?"

"I'd rather just stay in bed a little longer. This is nice," she said as she ran a hand up the inside of your arm. Your arm tingled, sending sensations through your body. It felt nice. You really didn't want to get up, but you needed to shower and check on Shimmer. Also see how the snow looked outside and if it was passable.

"I'd stay right here all day if I could, but there's a couple things I need to take care of this morning. Why don't you stay in bed a little longer while I shower? You need your rest after all," you said as you painfully pulled away from her, sitting up in the bed before you stood up.

She sighed as all contact with your skin broke. "If you must, go ahead," she said as she rolled on her back, bringing the blanket up closer to her chin.

You laughed as she pouted. She was cute when she was like that. You would've found that annoying before, but she had some kind of effect on you that you couldn't control.

"I'll be right out," you said as you walked into the bathroom with your bag and closed the door. You quickly started the shower water as it came to life, turning it up as hot as you could take it. You quickly stripped and stepped into the tub, the water running over your hair as you slicked it back. You lathered some shampoo through your hair, rinsing it out as you watched it run down the drain.
