ONCE LORI WAS DONE finding the vase, she immediately went to Jack's car. He was already in it. It was good, considering they were.. something.
He put his hand on her thigh, making her flinch considering his hand was cold. He had one hand on the wheel. Lori blushed a bit as she looked out the window.
"Do you want to listen to music?" Jack asked hopefully. He then turned on the radio. Lori cringed once she heard drake come on.
Jack saw this and grinned. "don't like him?" He asked. He knew all about the leaks, and was obviously on Kendricks side. "Here, lori, make a playlist you like. Just no Taylor swift." Jack handed her his phone.
Lori grinned and immediately took it. "Password?" She asked.
"21606" Jack's words fell out of his mouth. Loris head realized that it was her birthday.
"How'd you figure out my birthday?" She asked looking towards him with a grin, only coming to his side profile.
"August may have helped me." Jack says with a smirk. He seemed proud that she realized.
"You're literally down bad for me." She said with a grin and a cheeky chuckle. Jacks cheeks flushed.
"Shut up." Jack replied, trying to act mad and frustrated. Loris eyes lighted up at his tone.
"Should I, though?" She asked, looking down at the phone, opening the Spotify app.
Lori looked at his recommendation list. "chappell roan? Okay you're the one." Jack sighed with relief.
"Most girls I go out with, hate that I listen to chappell." Jack said glancing towards Lori for a moment, before back at the road.
"They're just mad they have taste. And I guess I'm not one of those girls." Lori replied with a cheeky grin as always.
Jack just laughed at the girls comment.
Loris thumbs created a playlist, and named it 'car rides in malibu' since they were quite literally living in malibu?
She added 'fast times by sabrina, not like us by kendrick, deju vu by olivia, feminounioun by chappell, good luck babe by chappell, read your mind by sabrina, please please please by sabrina, close to you by gracie, and risk by gracie'
Jack looked over at her phone while she was still tapping away. He saw 'not like us'. "So you're a kendrick girl?" He asked, going back to staring at the road.
"Yes I am. And that song is iconic, fight with the wall." She said quickly, still tapping away. Jack laughed at her behavior.
The silence stopped by the car halting. "Sorry princess, we're here." He said as he took out the key. Lori looked over at him, and set his phone down in the process.
Lori didn't notice that he got out of the car, and went and opened the door on her side. Lori got out when she grabbed his hand. "Such a gentleman." She replied sarcastically to the kind gesture.
Jack laughed at her playfulness and bowed. When he was coming up he had a small peck on the lips, before taking her hand.
Lori was a bit flustered, and just stared ahead.
"Thank you." She mumbled in response, not knowing what to say to the kiss.
"You're welcome." He replied, liking her flustered side.
They both walked inside, and over to the slushie machine as they did a month ago.
"This is so nostalgic." Jack randomly said out loud, making Lori laugh. She grabbed some cups before replying.
"It was only a month ago. It wasn't that long." Lori replied, handing him a cup, keeping one for himself.
"Guessing you're still a blue raspberry girl?" He sarcastically said with a voice crack.
"Guessing you're a still cherry boy?" She said back with the same tone. They both already knew the answer, they just like to tease each other.
The two pressed on the button to turn on the machine of their favorite flavor. Lori went to get a cap for hers, and once she pressed more, more would overspill. "Oh shit!" Lori exclaims, before laughing.
Jack laughed at her mistake, and immediately got napkins. He wiped up her cup, while Lori stared at him.
"You like what your staring at?" He asked teasingly which made Lori look down with flushed cheeks. Jack threw away the napkin, before getting hit in the arm.
He laughed at her trying to. He went to go get his slushie. "don't have to be so stubborn, lori." Jack replied with a grin. They walked up to check out.
