Echoes of pain: Nightmare

My eyes fluttered open slightly, the warm glow of the first light peaked shyly through my closed curtains. My friends, were still fast asleep beside me, but I was jolted fully awake by an enchanting melody that seemed to dance in the air.

The music was eerily beautiful, with notes that sent shivers down my spine. I sat up, wondering where the sound was coming from, but the room was silent except for the haunting song. It wasn't until I focused on the voice that I realized it was coming from within my own mind.

Kelpie.

I sat in awe, listening as the song came to an end. When the last note faded away, I asked aloud, "Kelpie, where did you learn to sing like that?" She chuckled then sigh "it's something I believe I was thought from an early age"

My brows raised thinking now might be my chance to question her again without her possibly shutting me down this time "oh well it's beautiful, do you love singing?" I asked threading carefully

"It's good, I don't love it but its like my super power. I'm good at it." she said softly "does everyone sing where you're from?" I asked trying to dig deeper.

"Yes, it's a bit all of my kinds super power, though I don't remember the last time we all sang" she said sounding dazed and sad.

"I see, so where exactly is this singing place?" I asked laughing to not let it seems as if I'm digging "it's close"

My ears immediately perked up in my mind as if I'm a dog "close? Can we go there? Do you remember where it is exactly? Do you remember what you are exactly?"

"It's time to wake your friends, I'm afraid you'll all be late for your duties." She said sharply.

"Kelpie I'm sorry if it seems like im snooping but you are literally in my head, is it so bad I want to know I'm not going insane?" I answered desperately "The alpha is not a patient man, I'd hate for us to get on his bad side" she uttered then cutting my communication with her.

I sighed deeply thinking of the eerie song she was all but enchanting me with, I turned to my friends and started shaking them lightly to rouse them from their slumber.

Kat groaned and swatted my hand away "Go away I'm sleeping." She grumbled pulling her sleeping bag over her face.

"Well I would gladly leave you all to slumber peacefully but it's 8:00!" I lie watching as they
scramble quickly from their sleeping bags like roaches and grabbing their phones.

"SURA why on this green earth would tell such an horrible lie" Anya squeaked breathing deeply, kat frowned at me and Alex seemed to know I was lying because he had yet to move.

I twisted my hands behind my back and gave my most sincere look "because the alternative is worse, imagine us being ACTUALLY late" I said folding my lip to keep from laughing.

"Sura sweetie it's 6AM, we have at least until 7:30" kat said annoyed, "um this is my usual wake time, I'm very serious about reaching on time so sorry guys but I need to start cleaning up and you guys need to go shower and get yourselves together" I said already gathering the sleeping bags and widening the window curtain to allow more light.

The girls groaned and mumble while grabbing their things and stalking to the door, I giggle lightly shouting " I love you" as wave leaving the room.

I smiled softly then turned to Alexei who was standing with his sleeping bag with questioning eyes "Are you okay? Aren't you gonna go get ready as well"

"Yeah um I spaced a little, I'll see you later?" He asked his piercing blue eyes taking me in with care, I smiled and nodded

"Okay later S, be good and have a great day" he said walking over kissing my head
