LAKE CREST, ALASIA

                          THIRD P.O.V

When the moon goddess created mates, she wove a melody of celestial magic, intertwining two souls in a cosmic dance. Her intention to craft a bond so profound, it would be the anchor of strength and love in a world of turmoil and uncertainty. Mates were meant to be each other's rock, their souls twist from two to one.

They were meant to be beacon of hope and perfection in an imperfect realm.

How wrong she'd later be proven to be.

When a mate betrays the sacred bond, the universe trembles.  A act so vile, that the very nature of it is strange, rare and terrifying. How could you harm one that was crafted for you?.

A question yet to be answered.

Vesserion, a scion of the moon goddess's firstborn, Akua, was destined for greatness. Born of a lineage blessed by the celestial mother herself, he was meant to embody the wisdom, strength, and majesty of his illustrious ancestors. Yet, like a star that falls from the heavens, Vesserion's promise was eclipsed by the shadows of his own heart, forsaking the noble legacy of Akua, the first alpha, and inviting the whispers of a forgotten fate.

Here were two of her children suffering greatly, her heart pained at the image of their uncomfortable expressions. How horrible for a mate to be so close to hating its other half.

Sura's heart thud like drums as she sat in Vesserion's office, her hands cradling her pregnant belly. She refused to look at him, her eyes fixed on her lap.

The urge to chew her nails was overwhelming, a nervous habit she thought she'd long abandoned. Kelpie's frantic pacing in her mind didn't help, her anxiety feeding her own.

Vesserion's office was a sanctuary of forest tranquility, with walls adorned with ancient tree bark and leaves. The air was thick with the scent of pine and earth. A giant glass window overlooked the breathtaking vista of the forest and the stunning Lake Crest, casting dappled shadows on the floor.

The sun had begun to set and the lake looked pristine and magical, the trees swayed softly weaving a soft breeze that traveled through the open window and caressed Sura's cheeks.

The strong comforting scent of the salt emitting off lake crest was calm. The smell created a peaceful buzzing in their mind.

Yet there was no peace amongst them.

Sura had never been in his office before and secretly admired the rich space.

Vesserion's chair, fit for a king, sat behind a massive wooden desk, polished to a warm sheen. The chair's intricate carvings depicted forest and water creatures commingling.

The cushions were a deep, rich vibrant green. Sura's gaze flickered to the chair once more noticing it seems to be able to spin.

A strange thing to notice, she almost laughed yet She banished the thought from her mind, then returned her gaze to her lap, her thoughts consumed by the painful memories of their shared history

The office was fit for a regal king whose actions were done for the good of his people. Sura scoffed at her thought sneering "Too bad the occupier is a fucking cunt"

Vesserion's guilt and pain were palpable, his eyes fixed on his mate's averted face. He knew he'd driven her away, and now, seeing her pregnant and terrified, he felt his Kua, howl and scratch at his mind. But he feared releasing him, fearing he'd scare Sura further.

His subconscious sneered "Kua wasn't the one who assaulted her", his 6'2 figure shrunk in the chair and he longed to beg forgiveness, to crawl to his knees and plead for her to look at him. But his voice caught in his throat. Questions swirled in his mind:

How to approach her?

How do we regain her trust?

His gaze drifted to her swollen belly, and his heart clenched painfully. He'd missed so much, almost the entire pregnancy. He silently cried out to the moon goddess, begging for strength.

Finally, he whispered, "Sura." Her head turned, but her eyes remained fixed on her lap. He begged her to look at him, and her nose flared at his audacity. She raised her gaze, but focused on his nose, avoiding his eyes.

Her chocolate eyes were cold, and her dark honey skin seemed to glow immensely, "Gods be good" he thought admiring her wild white curls.

Vesserion sighed, trying again. "How are you?" he asked, but she only hummed or ignored his questions. He tried for a while but eventually gave up.

Vesserion spun his chair harshly, gathering his inner strength for what he was about to do.

Silently he looked to his right at the sun descending slowly behind the call water, at the tree dancing to the wind goddess tune, his mind warped to the white hair siren who had attacked him.

"Could this be why my mate is back?"

"Is she in danger as well?"

"Is our baby in danger?"

His shoulders slumped in defeat, and a whimper escaped his lips as he realized this wasn't a shared joy, an 'our' baby to cherish together.

He wasn't sure if it was joyous to her at all.

Sura would leave again, and he doubted she'd ever want him near their child

The child was conceived from lust, not love - a product of pure, unfiltered desire. If Sura left tomorrow, Vesserion would understand and willingly let her go.

Yet, it didn't mean he wouldn't fight to keep her. With a heavy sigh, he spun his chair back around, knowing she needed space, and did the only thing he could.

"Your..." he started stopping to clear his throat, his emotions getting the best of him. "your friend Alexei would love to see you," he said begrudgingly, his jaw tightening.

Sura gasped, her eyes shooting to his in record time, questions swirled in her head "would he really allow me to see Alex and the girls?".

Her mouth was slightly open, she went to say something but turned her gaze back to her lap.

Vesserion sighed, He knew she needed someone familiar, but his heart ached that his mate wanted comfort in another man, not her mate. His knuckles turned white as he gripped the chair, his mind linked to Alex strained. "Come," he growled, his voice barely above a whisper.
