Isabelle's POV
We were still having our food and drinks before settling to go back home where we sat on the balcony. I was drawing and Ayrton had a book in his hand, but I was thinking too much to focus on my art. The questions were eating me alive so I had to ask them
"So I gotta ask, what happened to Lilian? You've avoided everyone asking about her, I feel like maybe I should know if we're going to be more someday...maybe. What is your motivation because you do what no one does and it's incredible." I could tell I surprised him with the question.
"Oh ok we're going there, Lilian and I were childhood lovers you know the person that you first like and we stayed together." He was trying to downplay it as much as possible but I needed to know what happened if I was going to stay and wait.
"No I don't know actually. I was never allowed to go out much as a kid, I had to do everything for my brother including homeschooling which my dad did that." Again I seemed to shock him again with my answer.
"I guess I'll give you a better answer than that, I'm sorry by the way that you went through. I wanted to have a house in England but she wasn't ready to settle there. When I became more ambitious and couldn't stay in Brazil, she didn't like that so I left. I have no regrets because if I didn't do that I would have never met the woman I love." I blush with his answer but I didn't fully believe him, there were so many other women that threw themselves at them.
"Who are you talking about Adriane?" I start laughing trying to distract the answer, but clearly that wasn't satisfactory.
"You know exactly who I'm talking about, but you won't let me say it out loud now."
"Don't go there Senna, we agreed not to go there right now."
"No you wanted it that way and I want to make you happy so I agreed. Doesn't mean that I change how I feel. I also notice that you always call me Senna when you're cross with me but call me Ayrton when you're happy."
"Oh shush you. Answer the other question, what motivates you to push past the breaking point? For Niki it was the thought of losing but he never pushed further than he needs, my brother is prideful but again only plays the long game. You don't, you do everything to win, what pushes that?" He stays thinking for a while and sets down his book before answering.
"The harder I push, the more I find within myself. I am always looking for the next step, a different world to go into, areas where I have not been before. It's lonely driving a Grand Prix car, but very absorbing. I have experienced new sensations, and I want more. That is my excitement, my motivation." I was astounded by his answer.
"This is why you need to focus on your racing and not me. I cannot be a distraction for you, you need to move on find someone to have a fling with and after what you've proved what you need to prove, someday might happen. You know that I'm right on this."
"And I can't ask you to wait for something that I don't know what will happen, when someday will come. There's a chance that something will happen, look at Niki."
"Then we stay as this for now, just two friends that support each other's dreams."
"Someday?"
"Someday."
"So what happened with your family? Why have you never been seen with another man before?" I give him an angry don't go there look.
"What you're the only one that's allowed to ask personal questions now? Friends tell each other things and I answered yours."
"Fine, I guess you're right. Well with the men, for one I never have any time for things like that and since when do models get to have a dating life. Plus you saw that as soon as there were dating rumours about us, I immediately got forgotten about as a model and now I'm only 'Ayrton's girlfriend'."
