Bump in the Road

Ayrton's POV

I look down at the beautiful angel sleeping on my chest and I can't help but think about last night. I know I shouldn't have done what I did, since I was dating Xuxa, but when I was with Belle I couldn't stop myself. I was starstruck when I saw her in front of me yesterday, I thought I was dreaming until I sat down. When she was with me all I could see was her, she becomes this bright light and nothing else matters. I don't regret sleeping with her, even if I should, because it was right. Waking up early let me reflect on everything and I knew exactly why I was dating Xuxa, I think deep down I always knew, I didn't want to be alone. I thought for a second that maybe I could settle for someone else and I did like Xuxa, but she would never be my Isabelle. While Xuxa was able to calm me down from races, helped me control my emotions, and stayed by my side everywhere; Isabelle was the one that gave me the burning passion to win, she tightened my emotions, made me feel their intensity, and didn't let herself hold me back. That was what someday meant and I was the one that tried to give that up. In order to not arise suspicion with my family I carefully slide out of bed, leaning down to kiss her forehead before leaving to the couch. Thankfully my family wasn't home yet.

If I wanted to prove to her that someday could happen, I had to be worthy of her, and to be worthy of someone like her I had to become a champion.

Isabelle's POV

I wake up to an empty bed and I suddenly feel alone and disappointed, slightly guilty about last night. I shouldn't have done that when he has a girlfriend, but I also enjoyed every moment of it. I was so torn. I could hear conversations happening down the hallway so I stretched and got out of bed to make my way towards the sound. In the kitchen everyone was helping prepare breakfast and I felt really bad for sleeping in.

"Morning everyone, why didn't anyone wake me? I could've come helped with making breakfast." Mama turned to me, walking up to give me a warm hug.

"Oh no need dear, Ayrton said you had a rough night so we let you sleep in until you got up on your own. We're more than happy to make breakfast, you're our guest sweetheart." She says kindly to me.

I look at Ayrton who was leaning against the counter with a cup of coffee in his hands, smiling slyly at me. I just give him a teasing glare in return, before going to the cupboards and setting the table for breakfast. The whole family joins the table and we were about to start eating when suddenly there was a knock at the door. Mama was about to get up, but I spoke first.

"I can get it, start eating you worked hard already." Before she could protest I had already gotten up and was heading for the door.

I grab the handle as the second knock hit the door, opening it to see a blonde woman in front of me. She looked me up and down before giving me a look of disgust and pushes past me.

"Ola familia! You are all having breakfast? I'll join you since you have an empty seat." I hear her screeching voice say as I close the door and go to head back to my seat.

I wasn't overly surprised to see that she had sit down where I was meant to sit, right next to Ayrton and Viv. She had already started putting food onto what was supposed to be my plate, everyone was silent and subtly glaring at her. Finally she looked up and saw that I was staring at her so she gave me her best fake smile.

"Oh I'm sorry was this your spot? I'm Xuxa by the way, I'm sure you've heard of me before."

"Actually I haven't heard anything about you, seems to me you're only popular in Brazil I guess." I say shrugging while going to get another plate trying to show that she wasn't bothering me; however I wanted nothing more than to bash her head in.

When I moved back with my plate I went to sit on a stool at the counter rather than the table, but there were protest from multiple people.

"I'll come join you up there then!" Viv was about to grab her plate, but Ayrton stopped her.
