𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 several weeks, prom had been the main topic of conversation for everyone. As the big night approached, (Y/n) eagerly awaited for Sae to ask her to be his date. She had hoped that he would have asked her by now, but he still hadn't made any move to do so. The anticipation and uncertainty were starting to get to her, and she couldn't help but wonder if he ever would.

(Y/n) couldn't help but feel a swirl of excitement and anxiety as the days ticked by. Every time she saw Sae in the hallways or during classes, her heart would race, and she would imagine him finally asking her to prom. Her friends kept asking if he had asked her yet, and she could only give them a hopeful smile and a shake of her head.

Four days before prom, (Y/n), Shidou, Akari, Haru, Rin, and Michael gathered at their favorite cafe downtown, but Sae couldn't join them due to him being occupied with stuff. Despite the upcoming prom, Sae still hadn't asked (Y/n) to be their date. Rin speculated that Sae might have been preoccupied with unknown responsibilities lately.

"We have to go dress shopping, prom is four days away!" Akari exclaimed as she chatted animatedly with her two best friends. "I'm not sure if I'm going, I definitely don't want to third wheel." (Y/n) stated, well in her case fifth wheel.

"But Rin, Shidou, Yoichi, and Nagi are going without prom dates too! They're calling it 'Brom' as in bro prom." Haru stated as the trio whispered.

"For your information, I came up with that name and it's awesome." Shidou bragged, his pride evident.

"Yeah, yeah whatever makes you sleep at night." Haru laughed as she turned to her (h/c) haired friend. "But seriously, you're coming, this is gonna be the highlight of our senior year!"

"Haru has a point, (Y/n)," Michael says, casually draping his arm around Haru's waist, causing the blonde girl to become flustered. "You always take Haru's side, that doesn't count!" (Y/n) stated.

"Because he knows I'm right," Haru says with a teasing grin. "No, I think it's because he's head over heels for you," Shidou snickers. "Hey, can't blame a guy for having good taste," Michael quips with a playful wink, earning an eye roll from (Y/n) and a chuckle from the group.

"If I go, will you all finally stop begging me?" (Y/n) asks, receiving nods that elicit a groan from the (h/c) haired girl. "Fine, but I'm not staying long."

After hours of non-stop chatter and laughter, the girls decided to extend their afternoon together by heading over to (Y/n)'s house. The sun was beginning to set as they walked, casting a golden hue over the quiet neighborhood streets.

Excitement buzzed among them as they discussed every detail of their upcoming dress shopping spree. Plans were meticulously laid out: which shops to visit first, the styles they wanted to try, and the colors that would complement each of their personalities.

Amidst playful debates over sequins versus satin and heels versus flats, they reminisced about their favorite high school memories and shared their hopes for the unforgettable experience they would create at this year's prom.

The sky darkened to a deep blue, dotted with stars that twinkled above, reflecting the excitement in their eyes as they envisioned the magical night ahead.

Once they arrived at (Y/n)'s home, Akari exclaimed, "Hey, there's something in your backyard, but I can't fully see." Intrigued, (Y/n) made her way towards the backyard, her two best friends following closely behind, equally curious.

Upon reaching the backyard, (Y/n) gasped at the scene before her. There stood Sae, bathed in the soft glow of string lights, holding a bouquet of light pink tulips in one hand and a carefully wrapped gift bag in the other. His eyes met hers with a mixture of nervousness and sincerity, his heart racing as he took a step closer.
