Sound of the sirens

A lovely, yet threatening sound fills the air. The air around the ship becomes even more foggy, as the sound grows even louder. It's a song. The song of the sirens.

Captain Plague keeps his eyes focused on the sea ahead, not daring to look at the deadly creatures. He pats close attention to the rocks, making sure to stay as far as he possibly can from every single one of them.

The singing grows louder, trying desperately to get the crews attention. Below the deck, Bolt is holding his hands over his ears and burying his head into a pillow, wanting to be sure he doesn't fall for the seductive sound and do anything out of hand.

Veo on the other hand is completely content. He lays back on his bed with his hands behind his head, blowing a bubble with some gum he found in his pocket, letting it get bigger and bigger until it pops and he sucks it back in.

Pipit has just completely powered herself off, having told Bolt to just turn her back on when it's over. All of the kittens snuggle up to Pipit's warm metal body, Trooper following their lead.

Up in the captains lounge, Kiera lays down, getting comfy on the milk white mattress and pulls the silky brown blanket over top of herself, warming up her shivering body. She can hear the sound of the sirens very faintly, even with the earplugs in, but it's not loud enough to have any effect on her. With how peaceful it is at the moment, she finds this as the perfect time to let her guard down and catch a nap.

The sirens come into view through the thick fog, revealing many anthropomorphic animals with beautiful mermaid tails all perched on a rock. The captain avoids looking at them, keeping his eye on the sea ahead, causing them to sing louder. They sing as loud as they can, trying their hardest to get the attention of Captain Plague. But no matter how hard they try, they can't seem to get to Captain Plague, their beautiful song unable to reach his orange tabby ears.

Having no patience left, a few begin to climb up the ship, digging their claws into the dark wood. They change their forms, their tails becoming feet, making it easier for them to climb. Unfortunately, due to his earplugs, the captain can't even hear their terrifying hissing.

Having noticed that the singing has gotten quieter, almost completely gone due to her earplugs, Kiera gets up to see what's going on. She peeks through the little window in the door, her eyes widening at what she sees.

Five sirens, all slowly sneaking up on the captain, their claws bared and ready to attack. Kiera tries opening the door to alert him, but can't due to Bolt locking it earlier! She screams his name, trying to give a warning, but it's not loud enough for him to hear, or perhaps he's drowning it out, associating it with the song being sang by the deadly sirens.

Kiera bangs on the door aggressively, trying to just break it down at this point. She uses all of the strength she currently has to ram into the door, even though she doesn't have a lot from the pain of the bullet wound. She hits the door weirdly, causing her to let out a grunt of pain.

She backs up, ramming into it again, but still not quite breaking it down. As she sees the sirens getting closer to the captain, she backs up as far as possible from the door, running at it! She slams into the door and soon falls to the ground along with it, having successfully knocked the door off of its hinges.

She grabs her sword from the corner of the room before running at the sirens as fast as she can, ignoring the pain screaming in her stomach. She thrusts her sword forward, penetrating one of the sirens! The others notice her, soon running at her as they make their terrible hissing noise! She slashes and stabs, blood squirting onto her face and pooling on the deck of the ship!

As she kills all of them off, more begin to crawl on. She lets out a groan of annoyance, continuing on with her slaughtering. The entire time, Captain Plague can't hear a thing and just continues to sail peacefully through the rocks. Kiera penetrates multiple sirens, their blood splashing everywhere as she does so.

Her stomach stings in pain, some of the sirens even spotting her weak spot and targeting it. She gets elbowed and clawed, all aiming for her belly but only a few managing to hit! Kiera lets out a hiss of pain, quickly killing the ones that have managed to hit her!

Less sirens arrive, the others seeming to not want to take their chances with the feisty black cat. The ones who do step foot into the ship get brutally slaughtered. One sneaks up behind Kiera, going to claw and bite at her back. Unluckily for the siren, Kiera is always one step ahead. She whips around, swinging her sword and cutting the sirens head clean off, covering her own face in the sticky red substance that spills from it!

She turns back around, finishing off the few sirens that remain. She looks around, seeing that no others are coming aboard to attack. In fact, they've sailed far enough and left all of the others behind.

Captain Plague takes out his earplugs, turning around to go inform the other when he sees everything that has just gone on! The bodies of sirens all lying in their own puddles of blood, Kiera standing in the middle with a blood covered sword.

The captain looks shocked, trying to process what happened. If it wasn't for Kiera watching his back, he may have just became their snack. He quickly rushes over to Kiera, checking to make sure she's not too injured, compared to how she was before.

Once confirming that she's fine, he lets out a sigh of relief. He gently takes her hand, leading her back towards the captains lounge. He takes her back to the bed, gently laying her down before noticing the blood on her shirt.

He hesitantly lifts her shirt up, revealing the blood leaking through the gauze around her stomach. He gently unwraps the gauze, seeing her bullet wound bleeding once more. He grabs the first aid kit, heading over to her and tending to her wound as gently as he can.

She lets out a slight hiss from the pain, yet she remains perfectly still for him. Once he confirms that it's been properly tended to, he pulls her shirt back down and tucks her in, treating her like a small child. He heads over to the door, doing his best to put it back in place and keeping a mental note to fix it later.

He heads below the deck to where all of the others are, banging hard on the ships wood in order to alert them. They all look over, Veo and Bolt taking their earplugs out.

"They're gone," the captain states, "Kiera killed off most of them and the rest are far behind."

The two look shocked at the thought of Kiera killing off the sirens in her state. They quickly walk over and remove all of the earplugs from the animals ears, Bolt powering Pipit back on.

As Pipit powers back up, she looks around, taking a moment to process the surrounding area. She opens her stomach compartment, taking out Lily, who's hungry and crying. She takes out a bottle of milk, beginning to feed the poor infant.

Captain Plague heads back to the steering wheel, continuing on through the now clear seas. They would all love to say that this was the hardest part, but every last one of them knows that the next cat may put up a fight, and it won't be an easy one to win.

Ahead of them lies a gigantic cave, the stone that forms it in the shape of a cat's skull. Bolt looks at the map, before looking back at the cave ahead.

"That's where they should be..." He says, his cyan eyes showing a bit of worry, clearly intimidated by the sight of the cave.

The others all nod, everyone looking at the cave with determination besides Bolt and Pipit, Pipit having a huge smile plastered across her face, even with the danger ahead.

Taking a deep breath, the captain steers towards the skull shaped cave, inhaling deeply before exhaling and preparing himself.
