The demon in the Dead Lands

"So, for starters, while some people sin to end up down in hell, some of us are born there. I'm one of the unfortunate ones to end up born in that terrible place. Both my father and my mother were also born in hell, my mother turning out to be a sweetheart while my father was...well, more of a sinner. His parents were sinners, and they somehow managed to gain a lot of power in hell, which was passed on to my dad, Azitras. He-" before he can finish his explanation, he's cut off by Bolt. 

"Azitras? As in, the demon we're trying to fight? He's your dad?!" Bolt asks with shock.

"Well, yes, but...I promise he's not the one I took after! You see my mother was a sweetheart. Who knows why she would've settled for my father. You see, her history of demons born in hell goes back a lot further than my father's. Though her side of the family quickly adapted to the underworld and became quite sinful, her mother broke that chain, and taught my mother her ways, who passed them down to me. While my dads side of the family raised him to believe the world above was an awful place that they lived through, my mother was taught that it was a magical place that she would one day get to see, and she passed those beliefs down to me," he explains with a smile.

"Huh, interesting. So what's your name, anyways?" Kiera asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh! My apologies, I completely forgot. I'm Azuri, and this is Luci! He may look like a regular cat, but being a demon he's quite the opposite!" Azuri explains, as the cat, Luci, bows his head.

"Pleasure to meet you all," Luci says, his voice sounding quite formal.

"Ah, so the cat that has been watching us is far more than just a cat," Kiera says, narrowing her eyes at them.

"Ah yes, sorry about that. I told him to keep an eye on you to make sure you guys made it to each cat. We'll need your help if we have any chance at defeating my father. I apologize for not making my presence sooner, I didn't want to startle you all, but in the end decided I should show myself in order to help you all," Azuri explains, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Hm, fair enough," Kiera shrugs, the motion lifting her shirt slightly to show the bandages that cover her wound.

Azuri gives her a worried look, stopping the whole group from walking. He gently grabs the hem of her shirt, pulling it up just enough to see the rest of the bandaging. With gentle hands, he removes the bandages, revealing the bullet wound, not as bad as it was before but still there. He gently sets his hand on the wound, his hand emitting a purple glow.

Slowly, her wound begins to heal...the wound becomes less visible, until there's nothing left at all, no mark to show what happened, any scar that could be there to represent it hidden by her fur.

Kiera looks down shocked, the pain she felt before now completely gone. A smile reaches her face as she pulls her shirt back down, heading over to walk beside Azuri. She gently pets Luci's head, seeming to give them both more trust than she did before.

Suddenly, Veo growls, pulling Kiera into a side hug under the blanket with him. Kiera is caught off guard, yet doesn't stop him from pulling her in. Noticing this weird behaviour, Azuri comes around in front of them, looking at Veo.

He smiles softly, her purple eyes glowing a bit brighter, "Hello there, what's got you hiding under that blanket?"

Veo hisses at him, his eyes widening and glowing a brighter red, as Azuri backs up in shock. Kiera doesn't seem too surprised, though.

"That's Veo, he's a vampire, just hiding from the sun," Kiera explains casually.

Veo growls at the demon, before shifting his gaze back to the land ahead of him. Azuri soon recovers, his smile returning to his face.
