"Do you actually know how to do this?" Jeremy spoke carefully.

Kol had grabbed a collection of ingredients from around the house, laying them across a cloth on the floor next to Beni's body. Finn held two candles, looking incredibly out of place, forced to sit on the floor, MJ's dead body taking up the sofa...

"I know enough," Kol filled a glass with water, "You need to go."

Jeremy laughed, "Every time I've left a room, someone's died."

"Jeremy."

The hunter held his glare, "You're not sending me away."

"My family," Kol steadied his voice, "Did as you and Tyler predicted."

Kol was not ready to acknowledge his own prediction coming true.

They'd told him they loved him.

They'd said that this time would be different.

He'd let Freya in – he'd felt safe enough to share stories and lessons, and walk among each other's lives like they were actually siblings, despite how she'd sided with Finn –

Despite everything, Kol had been patient.

Kol had learnt to be kind.

They thought they could do this to him?

"Get everything out of her apartment."

Jeremy bit his cheek.

Then, he nodded.

If Vincent had a way to read through the rune...

Now alone, bar the bodies, Finn sent Kol a cautious look.

"You've yet to tap in successfully," Kol mused, "I'm not going to pretend I haven't enjoyed your failures."

"Close your eyes," He turned, "Place a candle on either side of his face, by his temples."'

Fuck Finn.

Fuck himself for telling MJ to save him.

Fuck him for caring enough about Freya to let Finn live.

Fuck Klaus for putting MJ in the position that turned Freya against her.

"Then hold your hands over his eyes."

"It's not going to suddenly work," Finn did as instructed, "If it was, it would have saved – "

"MJ," Kol walked behind the sofa, "Sure."

Finn shuffled, "Kol – "

"Be still, and close your eyes."

"I've been – "

"Do it."

He did.

"The first time our mother tried this with me I screamed."

Finn froze at the mention of Esther.

"She whacked my hands with a book to get them still," He revealed, "I'd stupidly gotten caught using magic, meaning she had to teach me – "

"As interesting as – "

"She had me hold them there, and focus on the wall," Kol ignored him, "Which, I found incredibly dull, therefore, no reaction."
