Sarah’s pov
Jeff was so jealous of Dom it was cute, me and rest of the guys thought it would be fun to keep it to ourselves that Dom is actually Olive’s cousin ofc we’ll tell him later. We were all eating lunch when olive asked Jeff what was wrong he said nothing and got up to use the washroom. When olive’s face turned sour as she looked at her ringing phone. I couldn’t see who called. Later she told said her parents were in the hospital due to some accident. And she left abruptly, I knew she hated her parents as much as I hated mine but ofc she was their daughter and she had to go.
Five minutes after she left Jeff came back took his seat and looked around and said “where’s olive? Did that Dom guy take her?”
I sighed loudly and said “bro come on! MAN up! Take whats yours waiting around doesn’t always help!”
Alex sneakily wrapped his hand around my waist and said “yeah Jeff! Learn”
I gave him a side eye and continued “Dom is her baby cousin when we first moved here in middle school we stayed with dom and his parents they were the best. And no Dom did not take her anywhere. She went home”
“why? Because you had to water your plants?” Jeff tried to joke maybe? Or was he being serious? I don’t understand this guy.

“noo dude she went to California, her parents were in a accident or some”
As soon as I said this some odd feeling started knocking in my head which I ignored as I saw jeff vigorously typing in his phone.
“what are you doing?” pedro asked
“what do you think? booking a flight to Canada.”
“no, no, no, don’t do that. If she wanted us there she would have said it. And its probably about a day she will just visit the hospital and come back in a day or two” pedro said
Jeff seemed to acknowledge what pedro said and we all finished our lunch then. Alex offered to drop me home I didn’t hesitate. While in the car I thought about the doubt that olive’s PARENTS were in a accident and that isn’t on the news yet? How can that be. Also as far as remember that Jonathan guy is still there... I should have went with her… I opened the news app on my phone refreshing it time to time to see any updates when suddenly the headline flashed

I gaped at the screen when alex said “we’re home”
Without taking that into account I called olive, once, twice, I called her 10 times already and all of it went to voicemail. I was worried sick something must have happened.
Alex must have sensed my discomfort because he reached out to cup my face and asked me what was wrong, then and there I handed him my phone and told him all our backstory and why I was worried.

“ Well she must’ve called if she was in trouble and its not like her parents will keep her in a dungeon or some”

“ you don’t know Alex our parents are psychopaths they’ll do anything to make things there way, I should go to her”

Alex looked at me concerned, and then called someone, I immediately dialed Jeff his line was busy, so I left a voice mail explaining everything.
I went home packed some clothes and went to the airport with alex, Jeff was already there, Pedro couldn’t come because someone had to be at the office tomorrow.

We all were waiting in line when, the a bombshell dropped on us. An announcement. It said all flights to California are delayed by 5 hours due to weather conditions. Listening to it, we all sat down in the waiting area defeated.
I kept checking the news now and then, the thing is cali is 7 hours ahead of time, that means it was already morning there, and I had this very bad feeling.
When my phone pinged, it was a news,
